Introduction

Hey guys Riley Blackwolf AKA MiniThor here. Now I know I said that I wasn't going to complete this guide. Apparently I lied. I see a lot of people making other guides now and this originally was intended as just a purchase order for me to share to get people started. How did I come by this purchase order? Testing out different options in Practice Joust. I find that this works best for me and it has some great theory crafting behind it in my mind. I'm not a SMITE God by any means and yes this is my first guide. I don't know coding or how to clean things up so bare with me.

Bit about my experience? I'm a gamer of course and I've spent years learning how to be better at the various games I have played. As far as MOBAs go, yes I come from League of Legends. I find that I've grown a lot in smite over the past two months and really improved. I went from losing a lot to dominating and the only thing I can tell you there? Work with your team, pick your battles, know when to get out, don't chase and communicate what you are doing to your team. If you can lead as I have often done, then lead. Help your team get to victory. Other than that, let's jump right into The Goddess of Magic, Isis.

More to come later (This is still a WIP)

Isis

Isis, the Goddes of Magic
I find she is a very fun to play character. Honestly the easiest way to secure a kill, as with most champions, is to come out of the jungle behind them and surprise them with a stun using Spirit Ball and then proceeding to smack them with Wing Gust. As they try and escape, silence them to keep them from leaping, going into some stupid invulnerability (Freya), etc and since you just used an ability, finish with a basic attack thanks to Polynomicon. This will usually get you a kill. In lane? I'll get to that in a moment.

Bottom line, she can play like a mage assassin very easily, she can secure kills for other players and punish enemies for thinking they are safe at their tower with low health. I can't count the number of laughs I have gotten out of enemies standing at their tower only to die form a single shot of Spirit Ball.

Items You want to buy

(I don't know any coding yet. Bare with me. Maybe if someone can help me, I'll get the coding up later.)

Polynomicon
People have asked me about this item or debated against it. First off, let's talk about Isis' passive. Her passive gives her basic attacks 30 magic damage plus 25% of her magic power as additional damage and of course a three swing chain combo that ends in more of a cone-effect attack rather than single-target. Polynomicon's passive at level 3 grants +100% of your magic power as physical damage to your next basic attack after using an ability. This supports Isis' kit so well. I don't think she is OP by any means, she just has a great kit and since she is a mage that does magic damage instead of physical with her basic attacks and they get stronger already as she gains magic power, this item can do some significant damage early game. Remember, this is additional damage as PHYSICAL so their magic resistance does not apply to it, only their physical, which is another benefit to playing as a mid Isis with this item as most other Gods may take magic resist to handle the rest of your kit.

Spear of the Magus
This item is another good addition to Isis' kit. Simply by taking down their magic resist you're doing more damage. Add this in with the penetration from boots, Obsidian shard and the spear itself and you make it a nice damage buff.

Bancroft's Talon
"Isis can't benefit from lifesteal." WRONG! Her basic attacks do not give her any lifesteal, but her abilities do if you have magical lifesteal. On top of this, Bancroft's Talon gives a nice amount of Magic Power for an item within its same price range. This item is a cheaper alternative to Book of Thoth and gives great sustain. Mid-late game you will almost fully heal off of a wave of minions using Wing Gust.

Book of Thoth
Many consider this to be an item for any mage. It gives a lot of mana and then converts your mana into Magical Power. Mana isn't something I worry about with Isis given her passive, but this is a really good damamge buff FOR LATE GAME! I don't normally take this item, but if I do, it's going to be because the game is running long and we need a quick shutdown or deicide. In these cases I replace Bancroft's Talon or Spear of the Magus with Book of Thoth. I'd love to include this item normally, but it's a 3,000 gold item and takes a long time to build. Combine this price with the price of Rod of Tahuti and you're taking longer than you should to get fully built.

Obsidian Shard
More magic penetration. Not much more to say about this item. Who doesn't love penetration?! AHEM! Sorry, but it's true. When you have enough magical power to hit like a truck, this is the kind of item that takes it to the next level and lets you hit like a Sherman Tank.

Rod of Tahuti
No item in the game will give you as much of a boost in Magical Power as Rod of Tahuti. You've been laning, killing enemy gods and building this item and once you've purchased level 3 after already having level 2, you notice the difference when you head back out to lane or a team fight. Great item all around for any mage.

Items that only SOUND like a good idea

Gem of Isolation
A lot of people like this item, but I personally find it useless for Isis. I say this because the only thing that is nice about it is the health. You don't need the mana and you don't need the slow. Yes, you want to be able to catch your enemy and slow is a good thing to have, but Isis doesn't need it. Why? In her kit she has a stun, a silence, AND a movement speed increase in ANY direction while she's firing off Wing Gust. The slow is a waste and there are better items that give 70 magical power.

Chronos' Pendant
This isn't necessarily a bad item, I just think there are better. It's only 50 Magical power and you don't need the MP5 if you're playing Isis correctly. The CDR is nice, but in my honest opinion, you don't need it. CDR is a convenient thing to have on any God, but Isis' cooldowns are not that bad and if you're a smart player and you play smart, you won't have to worry about CDR. Besides, grabbing CDR buff from jungle with Isis is very easy.

Skills + Laning (Work in Progress)

Coming Soon...

Sorry guys! I'll get this portion up soon as I can!

The guide is looking better, but I suggest that you add pictures. Pictures make sexiness, especially for items and abilities.

I would suggest two things: One would be adding your thoughts on the abilities, so a section on abilities. The other would be what good match-ups would be for Isis.

The build looks good, and I'll have to try it out sometime.

Keep up ze good work, sir.

Oh good, you saved yourself rants from countless people. I'll be looking forward to that guide, but I must ask: Why no Demonic Grip? It goes great with any AP god who also likes basics, such as Freya and Isis. It is also one of the best partners for Polynomicon.

So I ask you sir, WHY?!?!?!

I look forward to the full guide.

Spear of Magus does pretty much the same thing. I've never looked at this item before so I'll give thought to it and thank you for the information. I'll put this in the items section later. For now, items portion is up and all I think that is missing now is the skills and laning portion.

Okay so I lied. I seem to disagree with a lot of the other builds for Isis. So with that said, I will be making this into a full guide.

Ragingstorm is a raging storm xD lol jk, he does bring a point forward though, even for starting guides, this is a introduction at best, add the skills and even if you dont have content, at least make chapters for what your intending to put in, remember to use godname to create effects on items and gods like Eset

agreed on poly though, not sure if i would take it on her but if you do you get it much much later because the extra dmg you get back is super low since you dont have much magic power, your better off doing the high dmg combo of thoth and rod then hitting poly.

if thats not the case make a section on why you chose these items or why you didnt chose other items. good luck.

Poly adds +100% magical power to the next basic attack within 5 seconds. Her basic attacks are already empowered by her magical power, so, even early game this can finish an opponent very easily if not simply do a ton of damage. This is why I take it so early; it really gives a good damage buff early on. And I've never attempted to make a guide before and I don't pretend to even know how to make a decent one. I just didn't see any purchase orders or starters being posted so I decided to make this. Really, try Poly out early on, you'll be surprised how much your basic attack hits for. Also, having it early on allows it to scale up the damage as you purchase other items, making each purchase that much more powerful.

This guide works pretty well, I got 6-2-1, which is good for me.
I practiced with the polynomicon earlier on joust mode and it works very well on her, (roughly 200+ dmg per hit when active).

Nice build.
Thanks.

This isn't even a guide, it's like-Nah. I kind of expect builds to be put up early and all....anyways, at least you typed something up. With meditation being broken and all because of three tiered I kind of expected you to build that. Though if you'd prefer, you should probably invest in Cooldowns for her ultimate. As if 50 seconds weren't low enough.

Although Polynomicon cost alot, spear of Magnus is a cheap item. Poly should be received later on. It's not usually something to get so early.

This wasn't intended to be a full guide. Just something to get people started and help those who want to write up full guides for her.
