Items

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK THE OTHER BUILD TO SEE WHAT FITS YOU BEST

Note: The builds cost a hell of a lot of money, and I rarely manage to buy all the items, but this should be the order >_>

First one:
1. Boots of the Magi - Obvious reason

2.Warlock's Sash - Guan Yu is a little bit squishy and the WS will help you maintain your physical integrity when a fight comes along.

3.With Gem of Isolation you won't fear jumping straight into 1v1 combat and losing it because of the escaping enemy anymore. All of your offensive abilities will slow the enemy leaving no way out for him.

4.This will eliminate your squishyness definitively, for Midgardian Mail will help you both in battle with HP boost and escape because of it's 30% chance of slowing the attackers movement by 30%.

5.As your hero mostly uses his abilities to do damage, you will need both Magic Pen. and Magic Pow. therefore, the Obsidian Shard becoming a must have for Guan Yu

If you think the battle is too easy you can leave the Midgardian's and go for the Rod of Tahuti instead.

Depending on your enemy team you can choose between Midgardian's and Magi's Blessing. If the enemy team has more physical fighters your can go for Midgardian's, if magic users - Magi's

The second build speaks for itself, there is just a bunch of mag. power and mag. penetration and again mag. power to vanquish your enemy.

Skills

A little info on how you can use the skills:

1.You should first max. the Taolu Assault because is both a good farming tool and damaging enemies. But don't try to use Warrior's Will and Taolu Assault on a god near the creeps in early game because you will remain with low hp very fast or even die.

2.While max-ing the Taolu Assault, Tranquil Gift should come along when pausing from the third skill and be maxed afterwards. Many of you would say "it's a useless skill, it gives very low hp and consumes a lot of mana if you want to fully replenish your health". It is wrong, this skill will enormously help you and your lane mate to maintain rhythm and not go back to base to refresh MP/HP + you have Meditation, but, of course, you should always use mana wisely.

3.The best combo I usually use (after I buy Gem of Isolation) is:
Tactician's Advantage, normal hit till stun goes off (there is no need of using all your abilities all of a sudden) Warrior's Will (most of the Gods have Leap/Dash/Speed giving skills that will help them escape) Taolu Assault (Now it gives slow because of Gem of Isolation) Warrior's Will again and then normal hitting. If the enemy doesn't die, well, too bad for you, but try repeating from Warrior's Will then Taolu Assault.

4. Warrior's Will is only good for slowing and last hitting as it does not do as much damage as Taolu Assault that debuffs the enemy of protections, buffing you instead. W. Will will only go to the max of 500-550 damage, which is not that much in late game, and the enemy will have armour, which of course will decrease the damage.

***If you don't like this build you can check the other one, it's an offensive build***

That's all for now :)

I'll try to update the guide when it will need to be updated, till then, have fun playing Gaun Yu, The Chinese Saint Of War ^_^

Thanks :) i added a second build to this guide, i don't know if you saw it, i tried to change a little my strategy and it worked pretty well, though you are a little bit exposed, but with a little tactic you can get easy kills and even help your team, why not :D It's an offensive strategy, i use it most of the times. Of course, it depends on the game

Oh for sure and it also ties into your playstyle as well. What works for you may not work for someone else.

Quoted:

I personally like more indepth guides. The whole "Why" can make a guide bigger and stand out more when you explain things. It gives it depth and makes it look thought out and as if you put work into it.

That said what you have there is pretty good. I have yet to try Guan Yu in a serious game but I think when I do Ill be coming back to this for a quick reference. Nice work on the guide :)

Why, thank you :D Smite is the first MOBA game I play and actually like it that much that I felt like making a guide for my favourite god. I don't know all the tricks here sooo... I'll gladly read any suggestions :)

No problem, it looks way better now, welcome to the community :3

Put the skill names between [ ] < -

Like this Tactician's Advantage

[ [ TACTICIAN'S ADVANTAGE ] ] <-- without spaces

It'll make it look way better :)

Add more color also, makes it more readable.

I'll still give you a +1 though :3
