Introduction

I made this guide mostly for my own referencing, so it's probably not as filled out as it should be and I apologize for that. I will try my best to update and add more to make it a more complete guide. If you are building off this guide and don't understand why something is like it is feel free to ask and I'll do my best to explain. I've included two different builds, one for arena and one for conquest. More or less the builds are the same in the end, they just vary at the start (obviously you don't need starter items and can place skill points a little different in arena).

I'm sure I'll probably catch some flak for some of the items I'm using and I know there's others that are more popular, but I feel the on hit effects combined with the opal acorns branching lightning outweigh going with the more popular items. Plus from what I've seen going against other Rata's in both arena and conquest, the build works out better though I by no means claim to know all, I just know what works for me.

Pros / Cons

Pros

High AOE Burst Damage
Extremely Mobile
Flexible in Builds
Remains fairly strong all game
Good Teamfight Potential

Cons
Fairly Squishy
Cripples = Death
Keeping Dart refreshed requires a good deal of awareness and precision
Can still 1v1, but is better when there's multiple gods around.

Skills

Starting out in arena I drop 2 points into Flurry of Acorns and 1 into Dart. From there, I'll work on maxing Dart first, putting points into Through the Cosmos whenever possible, and using Flurry of Acorns for a point dump whenever neither of the previous 2 skills are mentioned. Flurry of Acorns is second to max, followed finally by some points in Acorn Blast.

For Conquest, do the first point into Flurry of Acorns to help clear opening camps. The second point should depend on who you're temporarily laning against and how confident you are in your abilities. Use Dart for the second point if you want to go for an early kill or are unsure of being able to stay out of being killed. Otherwise put the second point in Acorn Blast to help clear waves during your temporary laning phase. If you put the second point in Dart, put your third into Acorn Blast (to help secure those kills that are juuuuust out of melee reach when Dart is down). After that, follow the same pattern as above, maxing Dart first, Flurry of Acorns second, Acorn Blast last and putting points in Through the Cosmos whenever possible.
