Sylvanus throws a seed to a target location. If it hits an enemy they will take damage, lose Protections, and become Rooted. If the seed lands on the ground, after 5s it will grow into a flower providing MP5 to nearby allies. The pod can be destroyed by Basic Attacks (maximum 3 pods), exploding and releasing poisonous spores that reduce Protections of nearby enemies.

Sylvanus Solo!

Greatest thing since sliced bread. Like seriously. The poke he has is amazing. I've literally killed an enemy poseidon at level 2. First blood in under 1 minute. I'll admit, I haven't done too much testing but it seems to work. I've tried the AA build on Sylvanus and it simply didnt work as well.

My Games So Far

I'll be updating this as we go. I'll include the bad ones to see what went wrong where.

1st attempt on Sylvanus Solo v. Loki: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178182678/Saberxbro

Outdamaged Loki, outpoked Loki, outpushed Loki. The three deaths were courtesy of ganks from their jungler. KDA: 6/3/13

2nd attempt of Sylvanus Mid (same build) v. Poseidon: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178197897/Saberxbro

Got a kill at level 2 on Poseidon, rooted him as he walked into lane, wisped him, and my archers finished him off. This happened because I happened to clear the jungle camps faster as well.

3rd attempt with this build (3v3 joust) v. Anubis, Hou Yi, Ra: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178287711/Saberxbro

Set up a ton of kills, did a ton of damage, Helped the Anubis and Ra had to escapes from the root.

4th attempt with this build (solo) v. Sun Wukong: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178316594/Saberxbro

This game is where I found Sylvanus' downfall. As soon as Wukong built his Stone of Gaia, I did no damage to him. Boot pen didn't help as much, and I was forced into a spear of the magus over rod of tahuti to try and stop him. Didn't help. He won lane, and after that Ao Kuang destroyed me because I have no escape. Will be looking into pen options.

5th attempt with this build v. Hades: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178448676/Saberxbro

Surprisingly I laned extremely well against him. However, Hades rotated faster, and got fed on kills in the mid lane. Kinda sucked.

6th attempt v. Osiris: http://smitelite.com/playermatch/178594536/Saberxbro

This game went great. I dominated lane, dominated teamfights. The Gem of Isolation as 3rd item really worked well against osiris because he has no real escape besides his ult. The problem was our Aphrodite never called MIA, and let Poseidon get fed.

The Build

First thing to do is to buy soulstone. iRaffer made this famous, and wanting to try it out made me play more Sylvanus. It works amazingly. You stack them up so quickly, and it scales extremely well. Your wisps heal more, your root does more, its pure mayhem.

Then you also want to grab purple pot. It works wonders. Remember, after you place down pods, head back to base. at about 15 seconds before minions spawn, take your pot and grab 3 healing pots. Then go and take the speed.

First Item to build is Shoes of the Magi. As a guardian, your damage output is low. It may be tempting to go into Cooldown Boots so you can spam abilities, but trust me, the early pen and damage is worth it.

Second Item is either going to be Lotus Crown or Void Stone. If you're up against a magical god, go void stone. If you're up against a physical god, go Lotus Crown.

Third Item is situational. If you're up against a mage with no escapes, grab Gem of Isolation. If you're on the defensive, grab Ethereal Rod. If you're up against a warrior with some heavy magical defense, grab Obsidian Shard. If you're up against a hunter, grab Divine Ruin. If you want more cooldown, grab Chronos' Pendant

Fourth Item is going to be either Lotus Crown or Void Stone. Just grab the one you haven't gotten yet.

Fifth Item is going to be Rod of Tahuti. It's just a huge power spike late game.

Last Item is going to be your choice. I personally like Gem of Isolation here because wisps then creates a 7 second 25% slow.

As for your actives, you want teleport and blink. Teleport because Sylvanus cant get to lane as fast as other gods, and blink because, you know, ult, wisps, root, dead.

Specific Items

If you're up against a tanky warrior who built defense right away, you want Obsidian Shard or Spear of the Magus as your third item. You need that extra penetration in lane.

If you're up against a god with no escapes, Gem of Isolation works amazingly against them. Pick that up early and you're good to go.

If you've got your back against the wall, pick up Chronos' Pendant. That cooldown will let you spam your heals and stay in lane longer.

Laning

Your clear is actually really great. Focus on the archers because they're weaker and their damage output. Don't use your 1 to clear. You use your 1 to root the enemy, get close, and wisp them. You'll take some minion damage, but your wisps will heal it up. Remember your Soul Stone stacks up in 2 hits on the archers.

Teamfights

YOU ARE NOT THE FRONT LINER

I must make that clear, because while you have 2 defensive items, its not enough to take on the whole team. Rather, you root, wisp, and ult when you can. You can definitely initiate, just make sure your team's behind you.

Similar to Bellona, you can be a secondary initiator. After your Athena taunts, you can blink in and ult for more cc time, etc etc.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading this. I'm gonna be updating this often, and I'll be trying to play a lot more Sylvanus mid and solo to find the best build.
