Introduction

Hello and welcome to my guide, this is about Hercules, one heck of a God that is able to wreck havoc, being able to dish damage, dirupt enemies and tank all in one package, making this god a nice addition to any team.

In this guide you are going to learn how to build him properly and make him a force to be reckoned with, and also have lots of fun playing him as i do have when i play.

*EDIT* Performing Major Changes to the build.
*EDIT* Changes been applied, Enjoy!

Pros / Cons

Pros:
- Extremely hard to kill, almost Immortal
- Attack Damage enemies suffer to take you down.
- Your Team will love your presence, as you are able to disrupt enemies in so many ways and also able to save your teammates with your disrupts.
- Nice damage, if you land Excavate correctly you can do easily 800+ dmg depending on enemies physical protection, together with his other skills and normal blows, you will pose a threat to the enemy team(Poor Carries).

Cons:
- Magic Damage Gods are able to give some real trouble if not dealt with correctly.
- Until you start increasing your Mitigate Wounds, things hurt.
- His skills can be tricky to use at first, but you get used to it.
- Driving Strike is the only reliable natural escape mechanism

Skills

Driving Strike:
This is what makes Herc an annoyance for your enemies, tackling your enemy with brute force away stunning and dealing a nice damage in the process? Hell yeah! More info at "Tips" Section.

Earthbreaker:
This skill can be quite tricky to use and may look like garbage but in reality its really useful IF used right, itself it deals low damage but may be enough to finish someone at low health escaping, or juggle him back at you, or even starting a teamfight. The trick to this is hitting the larger ground rock at the end of the skill line indicator to make them come to you flying. More info at "Tips" Section.

Mitigate Wounds:
This is probably Herc best skill, it is so awesome cause it pretty much makes you as or even more tankier than the actual tanks(be careful with magical damage tough), you can activate it just to endure more before going to base, or pop in the fight and get healed for a lot in the long run, making you the true Immortal God. More info at "Tips" Section.

Excavate:
Throwing a Huge Boulder of Massive Destruction that will wreck havoc on everything it passes through? Why not? This not only does a lot of damage but also is able to bounce if it hits a wall dealing damage AGAIN! It's half of the initial damage but even then its a lot considering most carries will melt after you use it, Certainly one of the coolest skills in the game. More info at "Tips" Section.

Items

Usual Core Items:

Reinforced Greaves and upgrading once is a lot better than getting Mark of the Vanguard, you can grab 2 Healing Potion and one Mana Potion also if not playing arena.

Grabbing Meditation first upgrade early can be really helpful, but be sure to max after your third core item as the 30% health recover can be life saving and you also get more time of a really high mana regen.

Focused Voidblade: Awesome damage and penetration + Tankiness? The item speaks for itself, get it to max as soon as you can. Always get this.

Jotunn's Wrath: Really nice item as a substitute for Titan's Wrath if you feel like you will get enough pen with this and Focused Voidblade. The main reason for this tough is it's CDR, that alongside Hydra's Lament will get the maximum CDR that is 40, a good reason to grab both if you feel like.

Bulwark of Hope: Pretty much your "there is too many friggin mages in the other team" item, if that's the case try getting it earlier so you are able to survive better, the additional health and it's passive makes it give more than any other magic protection item can provide.

Mystical Mark: I find this item to be really useful, not for it's physical protection part but it's health increase and it's passive, Herc is able to stay near enemies for quite some time so having them take damage by just doing it makes this item too good to pass on.

Hydra's Lament: Feel like enemies still take too long to go down? need that extra damage along some nice CDR? This item is really nice to finish up a build, making you hurt a lot more.

Situational Core Items:

Frostbound Hammer: A nice addition to the build if you need more health and damage and mainly a nice slow on hit, making it really useful to chase enemies if your team is low on CC.

Witch Stone: Really useful item and pretty much renders physical attackers useless along your other items. Also it's boost to movement and attack speed are very welcome. Go for it if there is more than 3 heavy physical damage enemies.

Sovereignty: A tanky item that is good to your team as well, the main reason to get this is the boost to health and give that extra kick before you drop.

Stone of Gaia: A nice addition to it if opposing team has really hard hitting magic damage dealers, but the best part about this item is the regen it gives to both HP and MP and that massive boost to HP regen cause of it's passive, try getting after some HP increase items for maximum effect.

Ankh of the Golem: Better than bear counterpart, it gives more health and gives damage based on that, can be useful if you want more damage and tankiness in one item, it's attack speed increase is good but not it's main reason.

Titan's Bane: Jotuun's Wrath is a lot better in Herc than this, i don't recommend getting this item in most matches, only against a team of tanks.

Situational Actives:

Enfeebling Curse: Only grab if you feel that you already have enough needed Core items for now, also get it if you feel like your team needs more CC tough.

Girdle of Inner Power: If you feel like that giant boulder ain't hitting as hard as it should and you want to make it do so at a lower price without sacrificing your tank items for DPS ones then this item is for you!

Aegis Amulet: This item is really nice when you want to dive into the enemy team, make em focus you and let them waste their mana and cooldowns while you become invulnerable to any damage, also it's a nice strategy to use it after you took some damage with Mitigate Wounds on and then have more time to heal yourself.

Tips

- You are able to combo Earthbreaker and Driving Strike together so you pretty much make one enemy enter your team range and get devastated, it can be quite tricky to do so at first, you need to get your Earthbreaker hit the enemy at the end of it's guideline making him fly towards you, if you see that you are successful immediatly go towards the enemy with you Driving Strike prepared and bash him towards your allies taking him with you and stunning in the process, making him an easy prey.

- To get the best out of Excavate you need to think smart, always try to use it against a bunch of enemies instead of only one unless you are sure you will get the kill and won't need it for a while, also always try to use it to not only hit the enemy but also a wall behind him so he will take more damage, don't be afraid of using Driving Strike first tough, as using it you will be able to secure that you enemy will be hit instead of just running out of the boulder range.

- Don't Underestimate the healing power of Mitigate Wounds it can really save you even on the worst situations, always remember that you heal more when you are hit by damaging skills, so always use it when you see that you are taking damage, also be extra careful with it, the extra healing that you receive is based on the damage you took and takes some time to heal completely so don't go in thinking you won't die just cause you used it, if you need to run away till you recover, do so.

What do you think of a DPS build by doing a boot-less build and using Witch Stone for movement?

Well Titan's Bane is good, but after some testing Jotuun's is a lot better for sure, as both are more offensive oriented, i find getting Jotuun's better overall for it adds CDR and makes you a lot more useful, Herc doesn't need extreme pen anyway. Also i find eye to be too dps oriented, i try to make him more tanky, lifesteal may help a bit but i find it desnecessary, i would take hydra over it actually. Anyway thanks for the tips.

I think your build makes sense, tho im a favorite of health items.. the only health item you got now is the last one, ankh of the bear.

Some few tips to improve this guide :

- explain the 2-1 combo
- more build options ( health/dmg/etc. )
- talk about more ingame strategy and thoughts.

Thanks for the reply, those are nice tips, they were really needed, i added item variation and a tips section for better explanation, if you think that it needs more be sure to tell me.
