What is this build?

This build offers health, lifesteal, power and penetration. Take note that this is an Arena build, and it's meant to be used in Arena and maybe Clash, Joust, Siege, or even Assault.

With no further introduction, we'll start:

Why these items?

The Items I recommend buying in this build are the following:

Warlock's Sash: In Arena, starting with this item as Ymir, could be beneficial for you. You start with a big jump in Mana and Health once you buy Golden Sash, and by the point you upgrade and start stacking wich will be in No-Time, you'll start becoming more and more strong in early game, wich WILL help a lot.
Shoes of the Magi: Once you are done with your first item, you'll buy these boots, wich will give you a good amount of power and penetration, and of course, movement speed. I choose Shoes of the Magi instead of Shoes of the Focus as this is a Damage Build, if you ARE going support or you want to focus on your cooldowns, Shoes of the Focus is another alternative.
Polynomicon: And this is the point where you can become a monster, mixing this item with your passive, using your 3+2+AA combo can lead to DEATH. If you want to build power first instead of Polynomicon, you can switch Obsidian Shard and Polynomicon from place and build this as your fourth instead of third item, but if you want to start using Poly's passive already, buy it and have no mercy.
Obsidian Shard: Indeed, it's low price and great amount of power will be 100% beneficial for you and your team, as you'll deal big damage at this point. As for this item, that's it, big damage at a low cost.
Rod of Tahuti: And when you finish buying this, you'll be 100% able to destroy any squishy god in a matter of less than two seconds with any combo you do! Your power will be elevated a lot, and I mean a lot, and thus, your damage will be insane by this point.

Now, the items that are, or could be your options for Last Item:
Spear Of Disolation: If you buy this item after you are done with the other items... You are sick, and I like you. Even tho this IS Arena, so the probability of you being able to finish this particular item by the end of the match are not pretty high. Better but Spear Of Disolation here if you play Clash or Joust, or any other gamemode that is longer (Of course, IF building as last item)
Soul Reaver: The good-old Soul Reaver, dealing insane damage when used right! This item will give a lot of power AND it's passive can lead to One-Sh...Well, maybe Two-Shots or so. Tho it's not my favorite, it works.
Gem Of Isolation: Ymir already has slows, and with this, you are just being a monster. Also counting with it's buff in last patches and now +90 Power... This could be the best pick for last item, counting is not that expensive.

Now... What is next? The abilities.

Why am I leveling the abilities like these?

LISTEN
Your main objective when leveling as Ymir is his two, and his three then, his wall is not that important here, YES, IT IS FUN TO USE, but we want damage to start, don't we?

When spawning in Arena (Level 3), level Glaciar Strike two times and Frost Breath one time, then, just follow the sequence I already added there. You CAN change orders! You can! Just remember, your two it's important, a lot, it's what is going to deal damage most of the times!

Shards Of Ice, Ymir's ultimate is also important, that's why you must level up this ability everytime you can, as any other ultimate in the entire game.

His passive, Frostbite, will make an AMAZING combination with Polynomicon and will lead to a huge amount of health dissapearing in an instant from the health bar of opponents.

We've covered this, two more chapters to go... Gameplay!

How do I play?

Most of the times, aggresive. There's many many strategies and combinations, here's some:

AA = Auto Attacks = Basic Attacks

"Hello, Goodbye" 3>2>AA
The easiest one, and the one that is used the most. Get close to one enemy, stun them with your three, deal damage with your two and a basic attack (That will have Frostbite AND Polynomicon) could mean instant death on squishy gods, or big amount of health lost in most opponents. If you stun multiple enemies, use your two in all of them, but of course, use your powerful basic in the squishiest of them.

"I touch you, you die." 2>3>AA
Pretty much the same as the last one, but with the first two attacks reversed. You start by using your two, remember there is a delay, you got to time it if you are using this, as you haven't stun anyone yet. If an enemy is hit by your two and his health is reduced enough, proceed on running towards them (Of course they should be close if you already damaged them with your two), and stun them, then use an basic attack and watch them suffer.

"Have you ever wondered how does an explosion at the face feels?" 3>2>4
As it sounds. Stun various or a single person, damage them with your two, and use your ultimate. Remember to cancel it if they are escaping, don't cancel it too fast tho, just in time for it to deal enough damage. Remember also, it's a huge amount of damage when fully charged. Your stun should keep them in your explosion range for most time. If there is any survivors, a Basic Attack will be enough for a kill.

"Up Against The Wall Explosion" 1>3>4 OR 3>1>4
Use your wall and block their way to escape, and then stun them. You can do it reverse, stun them and then quickly build a wall. Then, in both cases, USE YOUR ULTIMATE AND WATCH THEM PANIC AND THEN CEASE TO EXIST.

Create your own combos, your own tactics! The possibilities are endless, so as your imagination! Now let's move on to the Pros/Cons!

Pros/Cons

This team offers a big amount of health, wich will make you more tanky than you already are and will make you a difficult enemy to kill, so you are protected. It also gives you some lifesteal to sustain?

The main advantage is your passive's mix with Polynomicon wich will lead you to victory most of the times (Or at least to kills and damage), so use it and DON'T. HAVE. MERCY.

Last but not least your penetration is high, so don't be scared about going into some tanky enemies or supports, you WILL do damage, trust me.

Cons? I think the only bad thing would be indeed, you have health, but not enough to be called a "Support", you can act and play like one with this, sure, you can be a good support with this and also deal damage, sure, but you won't be able to "tank", or enter battles expecting to not lose health because you are a "tank". So yeah, don't think because you are Ymir, you aren't going to die. That's all.

Thank You and Good Luck

I just want to thank you for reading this! I hope it helped!

Best of luck for you! And remember...

Tbh, you aren't giving this build the credit it deserves. This pretty close to the same build as my submission with more info and some modification, and I just need to let you know that this build works in every game mode dude. 400 of my 700 hours are Ymir, and I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt, that this is viable in every game mode up till plat in leagues.

I thought I gave this plenty of credit, especially for such quick turnaround and his first guide. The major things it's lacking are detailing which mode (this is pretty important, I'd say), and if this was in fact for conquest (which he's since stated he doesn't really play), he should add starting item details to be as complete as possible.

What we're hoping this guide contest will get people to do is spend time working on their guides, getting inspiration form various sources, making improvements, and learning and having fun while they're at it. We appreciate having members that communicate and do their best, and we in turn try to provide helpful information.

Take a look at some of the more established guides (for other gods) on the site, and you'll see that there's a ton of different things you can detail to make it comprehensive.

My comment was definitely not an insult to Xaton500. I wish him the best of luck.

@ualrightmate Daelinn pointed out to me that you were referring to this build's similarity to yours. My bad, was confusing when considering it as a response to my comment.

Oh jeez. I'm looking your build right now and I'm impressed. I'm sorry, didn't knew you did the same, I'm going to add credit right now, I see you posted before. I'm not sure about Conquest or League because I don't really play that much of it so I can't say for sure, but I trust you! I did this build much like I always do in Arena, so I'm just confident that it 100% works in Arena, Clash, Assault and Joust. But thanks for telling me, I'll give you credit mate

..What are you responding to?..
No one's criticized this build :o Bran did say he could add more depth/formatting, but that wasn't a criticism so much as a suggestion.

Hi Xaton500,

Welcome to SmiteFire! I know you made this for the Ymir contest, as you commented on my Reddit post indicating as such.

Great that you specifically point out in the beginning that this is for Arena and other non-Conquest modes (as it's definitely not for Conquest Support!).

Being your first guide here, I think you did pretty well, especially writing this up so quickly. That said, you've got a good 3 weeks or so to learn more about BBcoding and to spend more time to flesh out the guide, should you feel the effort is worth it. There are many things you can do...detail gameplay for individual modes, develop more specific builds for the different modes, explain everything in more depth, etc.

If you have any questions, you're welcome to ask away. I may be a bit limited in how much help I provide (since I'm acting as one of the judges), but there are plenty of others that will be willing to help! Just be specific in your questions.

Anyway, again, welcome, and hope you become an active member of the SmiteFire community!

Thanks for the feedback Bran! Didn't tought I would get a comment from you at all, thank you!

I'll try learning more in these weeks and adding format to the guide. Thank you for helping me since my first comment on reddit! You're the man, thanks for such a lovely welcome :)
