Warrior Tabi-
About as basic as it gets, movement speed and some power. Guan doesn't benefit from the attack speed boots at all. He'll be getting Crowd Control Reduction and Health from other items so Reinforced Greaves is a bad pickup and then Talaria Boots are just not good. This build doesn't feature a lot of power so it's important to get a power spike from a least one item.
Hide of The Urchin-
Hide provides protections (65 with full stacks) of both physical and magical, mana and health. A great item to help Guan through the early game. It allows him to dive towers and the back line of the enemy team without dying right away. Best built as early as possible to guarantee max stacks and actually make the item worth purchasing.
Shield of Regrowth-
This is item is stupid good. Heath, HP5, MP5, and 20% Cooldown Reduction. All this for a rather low price. The passive on the item allows Guan chase kills by healing and then immediately ulting as the extra movement speed will translate over to his ultimate.
Spirit Robe-
This item provides 40 of physical and magical protections, 10% Cooldown Reduction, and 20% Crowd Control Reduction. Plus a 15% damage mitigation when you are hit with a hard Crowd Control (Ares' Ultimate). This item allows Guan to lower his cooldowns even more while making him more tankier and making Crowd Control less effective against him. A good item to allow him to disrupt the back line.
Winged Blade-
This item provides Health, Movement Speed, Attack Speed, and 20% Crowd Control Reduction. The passive allows you to move faster when hit by a slow from the enemy team. This item with give Guan more effective health and make it easier to chase down squishies with extra movement speed. The attack speed is nice but definitely not required and the additional Crowd Control Reduction you get from this item is amazing and puts you at the max (40%).
Pestilence-
This item should be built when the enemy team has an excessive amount of healing while also still wanting additional magical protections.
Brawler's Beatstick-
This item should be built when the enemy team has an excessive amount of healing BUT you want more damage and penetration instead of protections.
Witchblade-
This item should be built when the enemy team has a lot of attack speed reliant gods (Hunters and some Mages and Assassins). It will reduce the attack speed which will allow you to take less damage and properly disrupt the enemy team. This item also provides additional anti heal when you hit gods with your basics.
Midgardian Mail-
This item should be built when the enemy team has a lot of attack speed reliant gods (Hunters and some Mages and Assassins). It will force the enemy gods to risk getting a movement speed and attack speed penalty.
Meditation Cloak-
Meditation should always be picked up as the first relic for Guan. His early game has a great lack of mana and he's rather squishie early. Plus it's a safe call and your team will never complain about extra heals.
Heavenly Wings-
A good relic that allows Guan's ultimate to become a chase down tool. Also nice to activate either right before a team fight or when running away.
Horrific Emblem-
Slowing down the enemy team is nice but this one only works if you and your team are communicating actively. Could also be used to invade early game.
Shield of Thorns-
This relic should only be picked up if an enemy ADC has gotten fed and is presuming to slaughter you and your team. It will allow you to at least make them stop attacking you so you and your team can take advantage of that.
Hydra's Lament-
One of Guan's biggest flaws is how mana reliant he is. This item would not only allow Guan to cap off his Cooldown Reduction perfectly, but it's passive is pure mana regeneration. Which Guan desperately needs. It also gives another 40 power which is nice. My personal favorite item to finish the build off with.
Frostbound Hammer-
This item is best built when your team is ahead so you can shut down an enemy. Reducing movement speed and attack speed is extremely useful while also giving you more Health and power.
Titan's Bane-
It's probably only best to build this if the enemy team is extremely tanky. It will allow you to reduce their protections (even more with Talou Assault) and gives a nice power boost as well.
Genji's Guard-
You should only build this item if the enemy team is mostly magical and should probably be built in the place of Spirit Robe or Hydra's Lament. Plus MP5 and Cooldown Reduction are always welcome.
Breastplate of Valor-
I prefer other physical protection items to this, especially on healers as it then locks into this and then Shield of Regrowth. Still a good item to pick up if the enemy team is mostly physical.
Mystical Mail-
A good item to pick up if you know that fights are going to be long and drawn out. Dealing additional magical damage as well as the physical damage you already deal is nice. Not to mention additional health and physical protections.
Stone of Gaia-
This item can be built in the place of Hydra's Lament for additional MP5. It also comes with Health, HP5 and two passives that help increase your chances of surviving through team fights.
