Welcome

Ullr, The Glorious One Guide by GWSforever

Ullr is a half hunter, half warrior (mostly hunter) god. He excel in his range basic attacks and damage as well from his melee CC and mobility. In this guide, i want to tell you how to play Ullr in the right way

Pros and Cons

Pros

+ High Poke Damage
+ Nice clear
+ 2 Steroids at a time (up to 4)
+ An escape
+ Nice single target CC
Ullr like many other hunters excel in his range damage especially in his 1 and 3 ranged skills. Both of these skills also offer a clear potential. Also, he has attack speed and physical power steroid from his bow and movement speed and lifesteal steroid from his axe. This offers a great dueling potential. He also has a jump from his 3 in axe and a very great single target CC on his 1 in axe.

Cons

- Mana hungry
- No game changing/real ultimate
- To get lifesteal, need to be in close range
- No area CC
Ullr's main damage at the start relies on his abilities, this makes him very mana hungry. Additionally, he has no real ultimate which might be dissapointing to some people. He cannot use his axe passive in duo because getting melee in duo as hunter is too dangerous. Finally, unlike any other hunter, he has no area CC

Skills

Wield Bow / Wield Axes

Weapon Master

I will say that this passive isn't the best passive around. This encourage him to spam skills but he lacks the mana to do so. Though after Transcendence he will have about enough mana, but a 3-4 second cooldown reduction isn't really much compared to others.
Tips and Tricks

- Don't be tricked to spam abilities early in game. This will deplete mana too fast
- Keep track of the other's ability cooldown so you could maximize its uses

Bladed Arrow / Thrown Axe

This skill is really useful on both stance. Why? This skill gives the ability to clear minions on bow stance and increase the duration of the stun in axe stance. I take this first and max it first. I take this over Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound because the scaling on bow stance is higher and maxing Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound will be useless for the axe stance
Tips and Tricks

- When using the bow stance for clearing wave, ONLY use it if necessary. Don't use it to overpush the lane
- The stun can be used both to CC an enemy, help a teammate or escaping from an enemy
- Don't make it too obvious when you will throw the axe. Come to them with bow stance, quickly change to axe and throw the axe

Expose Weakness / Invigorate

This skill is pretty useful for the bonus physical power. This is very powerful in mid game when you have pretty good attack speed. The movement speed increase will also help to chase the enemies and also for running away.
Tips and Tricks

- Don't use it too much early game, it could waste the mana too much
- The physical power can be a matter of life and death while in teamfight. Use it wisely
- The movement speed can be used to chase enemy, juking or escaping, but mostly chasing.

Hail of Arrows / Glory Bound

In bow stance, this skill is really useful for some poking and finishing. In axe stance it is mostly use to escape or in some situation, chasing. I max it last because even though the physical power contribution is a lot, the scaling per level isn't and the other skills are more worth it, and maximizing damage for the leap isn't important
Tips and Tricks

- Both stance has some delay, use it where the enemy is moving if you want to use it offesively
- Even thought the bow stance is good for poking, careful with your mana
- NEVER use the leap for chasing UNLESS you are at least 90% sure you will kill the enemy and run away safely

WIELD BOW / WIELD AXES WIELD BOW / WIELD AXES

Not much to say here. Though, you could actually max it last if you don't need the lifesteal.
Tips and Tricks

- Careful when using the axe for lifestealing so you don't get hit by enemy while clearing waves

Items

Death's Toll

This is a great starting item to have. The physical power will give you some damage to help basic attacking. The health give you some extra health to trade. Attack speed will help a little and the passive gives you ability to sustain in lane

Ninja Tabi/ Warrior Tabi

You MUST always buy one of these according to your preference. If you want to deal more damage on one AA or skills, buy warrior tabi. If you like to use abilities more, buy ninja tabi.

Transcendence

Since Ullr has 6 abilites and spamming one another gives bonus to the others, Ullr can easily run out of mana. Buying this will clear the problem and enable Ullr to maximize his damage from skills

Rage

While Ullr deals a lot of damage from skills, his basic attacks are important too. With rage, Ullr can constantly deals double damage on basic attacks which make him able to burst down enemy. The stats it gives is good and the high crit chance will make Deathbringer (later bought) even a better item

Qin's Sais

In this time of the game, most gods will have some health. By buying this item, it could deals shred their health (especially health stacker) and could easily melt them. The physical power and attack speed are very great too

Deathbringer

Finally deathbringer is a great item. The bonus crit damage will make you deal even more damage especially when combined with rage. It also provides with high physical power which makes this item a must buy

The Executioner

The physical power and attack speed is great in this item and the physical protection shred can make you melt enemy faster. This is great when you fight a team with only a little tank or the enemy only buy 1 protection item

Titan's Bane

This is a good item when fighting a tanky team. Only buy this when most of the enemy have over 150 protections as it will shred more armor than The Executioner. Otherwise, buy something else

Jotunn's Wrath

This item give a good CDR and physical power. Buy this when enemy even has much lower physical protection as it will help more than the other items. The mana it gives also give more physical power if you buy [[Transcendence}]

Devourer's Gauntlet

A good item to buy when you are laning against some healer or so. You can buy this earlier in game so you can stack it faster. The lifesteal can also be good when 1vs1 someone

Winged Blade

This is a good item against enemy with slows (translate : Ao Kuang, Nemesis). It also gives some CDR to spam more abilities and health to be able to trade more

Malice

This is a pretty good item. Sometimes it might be able to change Deathbringer. It's not reccomended to buy all crits item ( Rage, Deathbringer, Malice). Just buy 2.
Rage + Deathbringer for semi-sustain burst damage
Rage + Malice for semi-burst sustain damage
Malice + Deathbringer for not sustain but very bursty damage

Gameplay (WIP)

Early Game

Early game, Ullr is kinda weak or something. He is pretty mana hungry. Ask your jungler or support to help you get blue buff. You should take it in most cases except you have support Aphrodite or support Bacchus

Don't over push the lane with your skills. Only use your 1 if you are being outpushed. If you have blue buff, try poking enemy with your 3 or sometimes your 1. Before getting to level 5, it is recommended to always use your bow stance for safety except for
1. Running away
2. Stun

Don't try to kill an enemy except you are 90% sure you are going to run away and there is no gank coming. If you are losing your lane. Ask your jungler to gank your lane.

After level 5, you can sometimes use your axe stance to lifesteal some. Just be sure you are safe from enemy's poke. Other than that, just keep farming. You should get stronger by more farming

Mid Game

Mid game, your support might start roaming the map. All you need to do is to follow the enemy's hunter. Say MIA if they are missing. If they are helping mid and your mid is kinda in trouble, help them. BUT, if your mid say it's okay and he could kept mid at bay, push the lanes. Try to destroy the tower, but keep your awareness on map. Retreat when enemy is coming. It's not only support job to ward, it is also yours. Buy ward when you have enough money.

Safe your jump for escaping unless you are sure you are safe.

If a teamfight happen, help them. Your job is to stay behind your allies and damage the enemies from behind unless you want to chase enemies from axe stance. If the teamfight is in your favor, you can just keep pushing your lane.

Late Game

Late game, stay in team. Participate as many teamfights as you can. Some times, you can try split pushing if you want to. Buy teleport if you want to do this (if your actives is free). Mostly your job is like a normal adc, keep doing as many damage from behind and try to have a chance to see CC them

Supports and Enemies (WIP)

Supports

Most support are good with him, especially the one that can keep her sustaining or reposition an enemy.

Enemies

]

Apollo : Easy (dashing and serenade into you make your stun easier)
Artemis : Easy (you can jump away from her boar)
Anhur : Medium (need to position well against him)
Neith : Hard (high sustain and high poke)
Ah Muzen Cab : Hard-Easy (early game high push, but late fall off)
Cupid : Medium (a cripple and sustain)
Xbalanque : Medium-Easy (low cc and only some early high poke)

Ending

Thanks for reading my guide. I hope you enjoy it and please upvote if you do.

NOTE : This is still a WIP, please don't take it too much, i still need some suggestion before going on

I like the guide. :)
Although I would personally build Qin's Sais before Rage, the thing practically doubles your damage. You could also put Asi in the main build instead of The Executioner, because you really only want the latter if the enemies are bulky.
And in regards to Asi vs. Devourer's Gauntlet, the reason I suggest Asi instead of Devo's Gloves is because Asi 1. gives penetration and 2. gives lifesteal. Also, having two stacking items can be a pain. Good guide overall. Upvote.

Oh, and here's a guide for BBCoding. Lots of good tips for coding, even though the coding on this guide is actually really good for your first guide.

HORRIBLE, i did everything you said. I used the items to perfection. This guide so useless when there is a better one on here. I can't believe this got votes. Shameful and discreet

I don't know what put you under this daft delusion that reading a guide would suddenly give you l33t skillz for a certain god, but let me assure you, you're wrong. I think the real problem is that you simply aren't very good. Also, you misused the word "discreet".

Thanks for the feedbacks

Winged Wand is a very situational item. ONLY buy it against a team with a lot of slow ( Ao Kuang, Nemesis, Thanatos, Ah Muzen Cab and Ymir for example. Somehow, i don't like Hastened Fatalis because if you can position well, it's not really important and if you miss one shot, it really mess you up

I don't know why you said that jordor, but can you explain more clear why this is horrible and how you play?

I like devourer'ss gauntlet more than asi because the physical power is so big and good for your skills and more sustained lifesteal than asi because most of the time of using asi, i already die before able to use its passive. Yeah, Jotunn's Wrath is much better than Winged Blade so i only reccomend it when there are lot of slows

The build is pretty good, although I don't see why you would want to take Devourer's Gauntlet over Asi. I also wouldn't take Winged Blade over Jotunn's Wrath, especially if you are building Transcendence

Trasncendence might be a good item on Ullr( It might be, since I don't play him), but stil a weak item, compared to the other ADCs.

Also, Winged Wand. I think Hastened Fatalis could be a better pick instead.

Sorry, I cannot really critique the build. I don't play Ullr at all( as I'm the worst ADC player myself).

Other than that, I see good use of BB Coding and also good information. Simple and useful. +1 for you.
