/||Enter Freya, Queen of the Valkries||\

"Any last wishes before I carry you off to Valhalla?"

||Game Lore on Freya||

Valkyries, the elite and angelic warriors of the Nordic Pantheon, are as beautiful and dangerous as a midnight winter storm. Yet their queen, Freya, so irresistibly desirable, so uncompromising in warfare, make the Valkyries seem nothing more than plain paper dolls. Shes the object of desire for every God, every man, and the envy of every woman. Even the Frost Giants crave her for their own, often devising devious plans to trick or force her into marriage. But Freya is proud and strong, with the cunning to escape her enemies and then ruthlessly retaliate. Every rose bears thorns, but this one wields swords.

Were it up to her, Freya would have little to do with blood and blades. Her name literally means the lady, and none of more worthy of the title. She adores bright flowers, pleasant company, and the sweet lilt of a sad love song. Shes sensual and amorous, invoked by worshipers seeking to bear a child or find a lover. Ruler of the realm of Sessrumnir, a place much like Valhalla, where the souls of dead warriors spend eternity, Freya provides comfort and bliss to the fallen.

Once, Freya was married to the mysterious and elusive God, Od. Immediately following their wedding, Od went on a journey to distant and inhospitable lands. So long was he gone the Gods presumed him dead. Distraught and heartbroken, Freya spilled tears of gold and searched the globe for him. Finally, she discovered him ship-wrecked and twisted into a hideous sea monster. Melancholy but loyal, she stayed and comforted him. Though one night, while she slept, a daring hunter slew the beast Od had become. Moved by Freyas utter despair, the Gods agreed to allow Od into Sussrumnir, despite the fact he had not died in battle, so he and Freya could remain together forever.

||Accurate Mythological Lore on Freya||

There are many sides to Freya (Freja, Freyia, Frya, Frejya and Freia) who also is attested to having nine additional names; Gefn, Hrn, n Mardll, Skjlf, Sr, Thrng, Thrungva, Valfreyja, and Vanads.

Freyja (Which is Old Norse for "Lady") Has in Norse mythology, not only been described as the Goddess of Love, Beauty, Nature and Beauty, but the Goddess of Gold, Seir (type of sorcery), Battle, Bloodshed, Honor, Valor and Death.

Known as the sister of Freyr, Daughter of Njord, wife to Odr and is the mother of two daughters, Hnoss and Gersemi.
Freyja was part of the race of the Vanir (A race of Norse gods hailing from Vanaheim) which acted as fertility divinities.
Unfortunately for her, during the war of the Vanir and sir, she was taken as a captive, but thankfully by the end of the war, she was freed by the sir.

During this conflict, there were many accusation and rumors about the Goddess, some say that a more accurate depiction of her is that she is the Goddess of Sex and Sexual lust. But this is more then likely and rooted from the demonization of pagan religions by Christians.
Mythologically speaking however; Freyja is said to be sought after by the Giants, By Hrungnir who ends up fighting r (Thor) and also by rym who steals r's hammer.
With all this lusting after, Loki aka the God of Mischief and Trickery, accuses her of being "the" ***** of Asgard in the poem Lokasenna
In truth this is not the case, for many accounts depict Freyja as a loyal, devoted wife to Odr.

There is an infamous story as to how Freyja got the Brsingamen; which details the chronicles from start to finish.
The story goes something like the following:
One fine sgar morning before dawn had begun to show, Freyja left sgar in a trance in which she dreamed of gold.
Loki, was out and about and noticed the entranced Freyja and followed her across the Bifrost (Magical rainbow bridge connecting all worlds) and into Midgard (Earth).
Finally nearing the end of the day, Freyja came to large, deep cavern with a dark passage within.
Following this passage deeper inside, both Freyja and Loki (who was still very much invisible) found the smithy of four dwarves,Alfrigg, Dvalinn, Berling, and Grerr.

Dazzled by the master work of the four dwarves, Freyja beheld Brsingamen.
For hours, Freyja tried to acquire this necklace by purchases.
But the dwarves told her they had no use for more silver and gold, but they told her in turn, that if she laid with each one of them for a night, they would give it to her.
Consenting to their request, Freya spend four days and four nights with these dwarves.
At the end, they released the necklace of Brsingamen to Freyja's keeping.

In short; Loki ran to Odhinns' hall, told him of "Freyja's prostitution.
Odhinn in his rage, commanded Loki to leave him and return back to him with this necklace.
He left, found Freyja's hall of Sessrumnir, shapeshifted, got inside, and managed to steal her necklace.
The Goddess stormed to Odhinn and raged at him for the theft of her necklace which ended with Odhinn telling her that the punishment for her "misdeeds" was needed.
He told her "If you want to see the Brsingamen again, you must spread warfare and misery in Migar. You must stir up hatred between the sons of men and to stir up a war without end. Whether they wish it or not, let men rip one another to pieces."
Sadly Freyja accepted this punishment and went on with her duties.

Some legend even goes as far as to say that she was wed to Odr at the time and he found out and disappear, thusly why the Goddess now cries tears of red gold for him.
But as usual Freyja is a BAMF and said screw this and with a child inside her, ran away the nine realms searching for him.
Not only did she give birth to two children along the way, but she consorted with anyone she choose to in her Goddesshood.
It has been vastly rumored and even widely believed among scholars, pagans and enthusiasts that Odr was actually Odhinn in disguise.
Thus, the rapid disappearing act of Odr after they wed and had a child.

The Goddess Freyja is said to travel in a vast chariot drawn by two cats which had two names each, Bygul/Hogni and Trjegul/Thofnir.
She is also said to possess a boar named Hildisvni who fights alongside her in the heat of battle.
At her disposal is a cloak made of unbreakable feathers of a falcon, which allow her to fly when needed and the beautiful & magickal Brsingamen.

One of the most popular lore of the Goddess is that she is the leader of the Valkyries.
The Valkyries are a group of women who are the finest battle maidens Asgard has to offer
They are charged with the task of taking the souls of men who die honorably into the halls of Valhalla.
There in Valhalla they wait til Heimdal signals the end of days, aka Ragnarok.
She is known to be the most powerful sorceress that came from Vanaheim.
That's were the Vana-Gods hail from before they joined the Asgard God.
But on the other hand, she is known to be the finest sword carrying battle maiden that Asgard and Vanaheim have ever seen in a woman.

I have a few questions on your build, I would make other comments but there's nothing else really, it would be nice if you could at least explain the build before posting the guide.

1: Why is Polynomicon not part of the build? It is an amazing item for Freya.

2: Why do you build Fatalis so late? It is an extremely cheap item that is amazing for Freya because of her Iradiate and Pulse.

3: Why do you build Obsidian Shard so early? It should generally only be bought late game against tanks with loads of magical protection, otherwise Spear of the Magus is a much better item. (http://forum.hirezstudios.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=249&t=110313).

4: Why Ethereal Staff? In my opinion Gem of Isolation is much better because it makes Freya literally impossible to escape from. Also, Freya doesn't exactly have a ton of HP, so Ethereal staff isn't as effective on her as it is on some other characters.

As a personal preference I like to build the Shoes of Focus rather than the Shoes of the Magi, because it allows you to spam Pulse more often. I only get Shoes of the Magi if the other team is extremely tanky, or if I'm going up against a combo like Ymir/Thor.

Finally, as an experienced Freya player, the "Speedy Tank Freya Build" just made me >.< please remove it.

This looks like it has the potential to be a good guide, you just have to actually add the content!

E: It would also be cool if you could add some of the gods that Freya synergizes well with. In my opinion Ymir, Odin, Hades, and Sobek are amazing gods to lane with Freya.

Ymir: He can stun and slow and then Freya can banish while the person is stunned and as Ymir is ulting, to almost guarantee that they will have to eat his ulti which deals massive damage.

Odin: His 2nd ability is AMAZING for Freya's Iradiate and Pulse, also their Ulti's synergize well together.

Hades: Their ult's combined do TONS of magical damage, however they can be countered pretty well with beads/aegis.

Sobek: Amazing at initiating fights and helping his laning partner escape, his ult also does quite a bit of damage and he can dive with it meaning Freya doesn't have to.
