Introduction

Welcome Lads n' gents to my Guide on how to play Serqet, the "Goddes Of Venom'..
This is my very first guide to anything ever on the internet so I hope your mercy may be with me. Anyways..

My goals with this guide:

  • Teach you on how to play Serqet (obviously)
  • Share my personal builds with the world
  • Learn what to do next time and hear your thoughts!

Pros And Cons

There are a few reasons why you would want to play Serqet.

Pros

+ High Mobility
+ Solid Jungler
+ Skilled Finnisher
+ Good 1v1 Damage

Cons

+ Very Squishy
+ CC Will Destroy
+ Not Great In Teamfights
+ Reliant On Escapes

Annoyances And Strenghts

If you know the gods pretty well you might not need to read this chapter but for those who are not completely familiar with all the gods I will add this chapter!
Here I will tell you what god is an easy kill and what got will absolutely destroy you!

I'll do my best to list most of them but that may take some time..

Careful With

Anubis
Snare with High Damage Burst
Serqet can't stand CC and is very squishy so anubis has everything she fears.

Poseidon
Stupid Whirpools!
If you are not careful this guy here will put you in a Whirlpool which disables the use of you dashes!

Isis
Denial..
Eset may not be doing too much damage, but she can disable you from moving in/hitting her.

Strong Against

Ra
No escapes, just lazers.
As long as you dodge his Celestial Beam then you can do what you want to him.

Thor
Nope.
When he comes in with his Berserker Barrage just give him a little Cobra's Kiss and he'll calm down

Skills

Co-Co-Co-Combos!

If you've read through the skills you kind of know now what you are dealing with, so I'll start with giving some combo's. Allthough it is reccommended to use them like that it is not a must and you should know for yourself what skill to use when. I will explain how I use my skills after.

Main Combo

Main Combo Jump In

Execute

Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions

As you can see, you will be using a lot of the same combo's when going in for the kill.
The cooldowns can be a pain especially when you need to be able to retreat any moment, that is why I reccommend building CDR. Note that with the Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions combo, you want to use Ambush as a getaway. Allright now let me explain the skills..

Deathbane

Deathbane is Serqet's main way to deal damage. When up close you want to pull back your mouse as much as possible so you will hit 1 enemy 3 times, that is why I reccommend initiating with Cobra's Kiss.
Also don't forget the protections debuff, so after you used this and Cobra's Kiss is still up, get some basic attacks in there. This will greatly help taking down enemies!

Cobra's Kiss

This skill is a tough one. If you pull it off corectly it will be a great way to start a fight. When using Cobra's Kiss you will shoot 2 venom projectiles into the enemy that will distract then for a good amount of time. The range is not great and the damage is not much, but if you make your shots count it will destroy. Hit 2 enemies that are close to eachother and use Deathbane to deal TONS of damage! In a 1v1 situation its not as good as 1v2 but its still a strong initiate.

Ambush

I like to keep this skill up for times that I need to get away. Some people may use it as damage but that will bring a great risk. Serqet is a precise god which shows when you use this skill. Using this skill mean you will fight and kill the enemy so you won't need your escapes OR going in and getting out fast before getting any form of annoying CC. You can also use this skill to finnish those annoying gods trying to get away and you can just get in and take the kill.

Last Breath

This skill requires you to use it at the right time. When you find yourself trapped you can ult someone to get your Deathbane and Ambush off of cooldown. If you need someone to die then using the Execute combo may be how you want to go about things. Last Breath is a really situational skill because of its delayed damage and directional throw. Early game it is a good idea to use Cobra's Kiss to pull people into you and then throw them into the tower with Last Breath.

And don't forget: Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions..

Items

Here I will be explaining my builds and why you want the items.

Allways Take

You'll probably want to get some CDR someday so this one is you main choice.
Awesome passive and nice stats..
Deathbringer is a good way to get damage going on your Deathbane.
I don't take it before Rage because I prefer more crits,
rather than higher damage.
Warrior Tabi is a good idea but at the end of the build I prefer to get some
quick hits on my opponents for that faster time to kill.
Offcourse this one is prefference.

Good Addition

Now Rage is my go-to Crit item, it will surely buff Deathbane's power.
It's up to you which of the two you want to take first.
Serqet can use some attack speed so she can get a lot of hits on the opponent
while they are under the effects of Cobra's Kiss.
Asi may also just safe your life!
Are your opponents being annoying by building Physical Defence?
Don't worry we'll make them pay..

Situational

Magi's Blessing
Tell the baddies you don't want any of their stupid CC with Magi's Blessing!
Your call if you want to keep getting stunned.
I wouldn't say an alternative choice instead of Jotunn's Wrath, but rather
a nifty boost for your CDR when the opponent is squishy.
And then there is the passive..
If you really want power I'd say this one will do the job for you..
Also MP5 and Mana is allways a nice thing to have
When the baddies are starting to hurt and you just really need some defence.
Gives some power and the passive will help somewhat.

You can also grab Greater Purification or maybe even Greater Aegis but choose wisely when jungling.

Team Work

As you can see from chapter 4, Serqet is single target focussed, but can also get a double when you do things right. Serqet is not too strong on staying in a fight though as she needs to be up in the face to do damage, and since she is very squishy it makes it hard for her to get there let alone stay there. I like her as a distraction or a setup as she can move extremely fast. Also the Cobra's Kiss is a nice way to prevent enemies from using skills like Bachus' Belch of the Gods.
Since Serqet has such good movement she is also a good god to jump into the Fire Giant and steal the kill for the team, and who knows get out alive!
Because she is good at jungling most teamwork will be getting good ganks off and dropping buffs like any other jungler, so engaging fights with a team with an Ares and Poseidon is not something you want to do.

Final Words

So in the end I can only sum it up like this:

Be extremely careful with enemy CC and know when to move in for the kill.
Serqet is a great jungler but she is not too good at team fights.
Make sure you use your skills wisely and with precision.
Keep your eye on what god is low health and trying to run back or recall.
Also drop some buffs since you're so quick about traveling around the map.

Thank You all for reading through, and I hoped this will have helped you enough to get into a game with Serqet and wreck your opponents!

Serqet is not an AA based god, far from it actually. Her strength lies in the overwhelming power of her abilities, mainly Deathbane. Each one of it's hits can crit, which means her build should be focused around beefing up that ability.

First thing to realize about her is she needs NOTHING with attack speed on it. Attack speed does not benefit her abilities, or her passive. What does benefit her is raw power. Ninja Tabi needs to be changed to Warrior Tabi. Asi needs to be removed from the build completely. Serqet has zero staying power, she is a one-trick pony. She goes in, does her combo, then gets out. This is why she has two good escapes. She is too squishy to stay in the middle of a huge team fight. Asi needs to be switched for Titan's Bane. Play her slippery, not ballsy.

For the crit items, Deathbringer is a no brainer. Rage is actually a terrible choice for her. Deathbane does not activate Rage's passive ability. Rage's passive only works off auto attacks, which Serqet will only perform 2-3 of at most on a target. She will also only perform those auto attacks after she has applied her poisons, meaning her abilities will likely never take advantage of any Rage stacks she would acquire. Malice is a MUCH better option for her than Rage. It provides more power, and the passive works on Deathbane.

Last comment on items, Magi's Blessing and Beads should be used in nearly every single Serqet build. Her biggest weakness by far is CC that disables her or her escapes. She has an incredibly small health pool, so every little thing that can help her escape is useful. My recommended final build is: Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, Deathbringer, Malice, Titan's Bane, Magi's Blessing.

As far as matchups, Thor is actually a hard counter for Serqet. Thor has more health, and gains more AP per level than Serqet. A good Thor will be leveling Berserker Barrage last, and he is going to be leveling Mjolnir's Attunement followed by Tectonic Rift. Mjolnir's Attunement Does 600+ damage at rank 5, not to mention he is going to have extra power just from you being near him. He is going to Rift you then hit you with the Attunement, which will put you in the yellow, if not the red. Thor can effectively 2 or 3 shot Serqet. He is one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous Assassin for Serqet to go up against.

EDIT: Also, Isis isn't much of a threat for Serqet. Her stun is very easy to avoid, the silence isn't too big of a threat, and Cobra's Kiss stops Gust. Also, Serqet's Ultimate completely negates Isis's Ultimate. Serqet's Ultimate does true damage, prevents healing, and flings her target. All three of things make Isis's Ultimate null and void.

the only section ur missing is jungling route
but great guide overall, just add jungling route

Thanks for the feedback!
But unfortunately I am no good at jungling myself so I decided not to do such a thing as I don't even know myself..

If I'll ever get it myself I will share my thoughts!
Thanks again!

lol if ur astonished by that bbcoding check out my xbal guide ;)

but srsly gj with the bbcoding, looks visually pleasing

also nice job adding potential checks and counters, ive been trying to get ppl to do that lately

also good job with explanations of situational items and a teamfight section

the only section ur missing is jungling route

onto your build: since your dash gives both pen and is able to crit, i mainly build her in masters as such: ninja tabi, jotunns wrath, hydras lament, rage, magis, and db

u absolutely need magis as a jungler since most of the, are extremely squishy and need the cc immunity for gf and fg steals

also this gives her max cdr meaning her passive will proc more often

you dont really need too much pen since her ult does true damage and her dash gives u innate 15% pen, so jotunns wrath should be enough. rage and db allow her dash to crit with extra damage more often, as well as her basic attacks. if ur team is far enough ahead, u can replace magis with malice

but great guide overall, just add jungling route
