Introduction

Welcome to my guide for Isis, Goddess of Magic

My name is Zilby. I am a casual player who primarily plays conquest. My preferred role in conquest is the solo lane, but I do play all the roles relatively evenly. Eset has been my favorite mid laner as of late because of her incredible lane clear and powerful abilities. Thus, this is a guide for Eset in the mid lane.

This is my sixth smitefire guide, and I intend to update it, so feel free to comment things that should be added/edited.

Regardless, lets move on to the feathery goddess herself, Isis!

  • Not the most high damage ult in most scenarios
  • Mana hungry
  • Reliant on lifesteal for healing
  • Best position for lane clear with Wing Gust leaves you open to enemy attacks

Items: General

This section is built around the starter items included in both builds above. These items are essential to getting a good start to your game, regardless of what you plan to accomplish as a teammate during the mid and late game.

Items

Items: Battle Mage

This section describes the items used in the Battle Mage build, aside from general items, as well as some alternative items, in the order that you would buy them in game. This build is intended to give you a large amount of attack power and burst potential, as well as some health to have sustain. This build is used to essentially support your team by dealing massive amounts of magical damage to the enemy team.

Items

Items: Support Mage

This section describes the items used in the Support Mage build, aside from general items, as well as some alternative items, in the order that you would buy them in game. This build is intended to give you heavy cooldown-reduction, a huge health and mana pool, physical protections, decent damage and enemy magical protection reduction. This build is used to essentially support your team by pressuring enemies with your constant ability usage, lowering their protections and health and setting your team up to get kills with your stun, silence and ultimate while still remaining a difficult target to take out.

Items

Items: Actives

This section is an overview of my preferred actives on Eset. These items are largely situational, so it's really up to the player to determine what is appropriate for a given game.

Items

Mechanics

Smite's Know your enemy series is great if you're new to a god or just want to make sure you know how all their mechanics work. I'd highly recommend their videos if you're unsure of how to use a god properly. Their Eset video is here below.

Conclusion

Eset is a powerful mage with a versatile build that allows her to either build power or support.
She is by far the mightiest chicken in Smite (although Ra might like to argue that statement).

I hope you liked this guide and that it helps you to become a better Isis player.
Happy smiting!

Give people some time, guide makers are still in the process of rebuilding everything after the S3 changes not even a week ago. You need to be patient for Zilby and others like him to go though all the ideas and seeing if the same build would work anymore.

Sorry about that mate, working on updating my guides atm. Isis will probably be one of the first since she hasn't changed all that much, as of right now, most of this guide is still relevant except Doom Orb is a lot more viable and you can sometimes use Spear of Desolation depending on context :P

@Greenevers, at the time I was going for a one shot build as Arvorus described, while the guide does say updated, the only thing I've changed recently was the shoes choice (because penetration). Normally these days I would probably swap out Soul Reaver for Chronos' Pendant earlier on. I'll put that down as an alternatIve later on (because while not always as practical, the one shot build IS really fun.) as for bancrofts, I've found that with the huge damage you get from warlocks and soul reaver you typically get better single target dps. If you want better aoe damage, then bancrofts is a better bet

I think that Zilby was going for more of a one-shot build, seeing as how Soul Reaver is also in there. I could see Bancroft's Talon being used, but CDR doesn't work all too well with burst items.

Why Polynomicon? Why not Bancroft's Talon or Chronos' Pendant? Late game, you need rotational CDR for better dps.

I've always had a blast spamming her abilities, but by building damage its so satisfying to watch their HP get destroyed when you hit all the wing gusts! Oh decisions, decisions!

My favorite Goddesses are Isis, Awilix, and Bellona, and you have guides for them all! :D

After skimming through this guide, I touched up a few things to get it more up-to-date, especially since I've learned newer and better things about how to build and play Eset. I would have done this sooner, but I've been hard at work on a rather special guide that will be published soon that has been taking most of my time on smitefire. I'll try to update the rest of the guides after I'm done with that.

What do you think about spear of the magus instead of obsidian shard. With the passive, you do the combo of Dispel magic and spirit ball. By that point the magic protection of the enemy is reduced by 20 as well as an additional 20%. Then you wind gust for massive damage. The only problem is that it costs an additional 200g but I think that it is worth it. I just want to know what you think about the idea. I really love the build though.

I honestly don't know why I have Obsidian Shard up there, it should be Spear of the Magus. Her abilities combo well enough that you'll keep the stacks up easily. The original build for this guide is a bit old, so I guess I didn't think through it as much at the time. Will change now though, thanks for the feedback!

Hey I like your guide, It has a good build and the bbcoding is very good, but what about like a chronos pendant on the power build to increase your abilities per min?

Thanks! As far as Chronos Pendant goes for the power build, it would probably replace your fifth item slot removing either Polynomicon or Soul Reaver. This is an option, however this would create a more or less hybrid support/power build since Chronos Pendant doesn't offer the same kind of power as the other two options and because the power build is originally intended for burst damage. It's really the last three or so items that differentiate the two builds, so it can be best to determine which one is most useful for the current game after completing the first three. There have been games where I've built myself as a hybrid support/power, however I've typically found that it's usually best to specialize in one.

I'll make sure to check out your guide, but be forewarned, I'm not that big of a fan of Cabrakan from past experience >_<
