Intro

Hey fellas, CherryGarcia (aka the best poster on thetldr.com, enter now) here with a simple and fairly uncommon (at least from what I've seen) Thor build that I tend to do fairly well with. Keep in mind that I only really play pubs and the few ranked games I've played I've had varying success (although I think I can chalk that up to me just flat out playing like **** when I do badly rather than this being a bad build for the level I'm playing at).

Summary

This build is essentially anchored around doing well enough early game to stay with everyone come mid-game, which really isn't all that hard. Mid game's the most difficult portion of any given game to stay relevant in, both with Thor in general (at least form what I find) and with this build in particular, but you'll have an insane early game (which is pretty much the case with Thor in general, too) so you really need to take advantage of your complete overpowering ability early on. You can pretty much dictate what happens in a lane up until 10-15 minutes, after that things start to slow down a bit. Come 20-25 things tend to slow down quite a bit, but you start to pick up after you get your Deathbringer.

Rudimentary Stats

This build's based around early speed to land all your hammer hits and give you that extra chase, as well as a ton of health mid and offensive power late game. You end up with +1230 health with fully stacked gauntlets, around +230 attack power, +38% combat move speed, +50% out of combat move speed, +44HP5, +60 physical protection, +20% crit chance, +50% crit damage, +15% attack speed, +15% lifesteal, and the Voidblade debuff. It lends itself to a really well balanced late game Thor, with a bunch of health, a good amount of damage, and a ton of speed.

Vague Guide

You're going to want a side lane with this build, that's really all there is to it. Thor's already too powerful in a side lane to pass up, you don't really want to waste it by going mid.

Generally you're going to want to take right lane and counter their blue. I tend to get there around 12-14 seconds into the game and they're usually knee deep in blue when I get there. What's more important than taking the buff itself, at least in my opinion, is catching and killing your lane opponents. Killing them early and showing them you actually know how to play Thor is a nice way to start the game, plus it's a huge experience boost for you and a decent loss for them. Keep in mind Thor's passive and how outrageous it is in the first few levels. Any chance you have to kill them you should take. Communication with your lane partner is key to winning the lane with Thor as most people don't play or play with him very often.

That's basically all I have to say guide-wise. He pretty much plays like any other melee God after the early part of the game's over. Just make sure to learn to use his wall well, it's far and away your most important skill, and don't neglect the power of your 3, both for damage and for escaping.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please fiddle with this build and post any suggestions you may have. 8)

I've had a lot of success with this build, however i prefer to upgrade beserker's barrage first, and not pick up tectonic rift until level 6 or 7
