I'm making this guide because of all the threads I've seen about how horrible and how disliked he is. I've been playing him support in conquest/arena since he came out as a god. He is also a pretty viable damage dealer if paired with the right person/god. The damage build above I wouldn't use unless somehow you're playing Cabrakan instead of an ADC or in Arena.
Pros Every skill is some form of CC Passive is great for protecting team Decent damage for tank Can box out opponent with Tectonic Shift leaving one or both vulnerable High Health Pool |
Cons Seismic Crush is the only escape (not a very good one) Must be hit to charge Refraction Shield as a stun Tremors is a stationary skill Easy to box out your own team with Tectonic Shift letting kill slip away Mana hungry |
Passive: Shadow Zone provides a 5% damage reduction allies in a 30FT radius around.
For conquest there are a few more situational items, of course, depending on who you're playing. I build Cabrakan with a good amount of health (~4k since he's a support) But as for my main go to items...
Let your ADC get as many kills as possible. The more you feed him, the more he'll feed you (with assists). |
Some people will argue that this can sometimes be apart of a Cabrakan build, let alone core. The health/mana/magic damage are pretty good, but the passive...Every hit slow for 2 seconds. This will allow your team to farm off you via being set up from your stuns, slows, and wall. |
This will allow all skills to be off cooldown much faster allowing the extra CC. |
Helps with the extra damage during your Tremors plus the added health and protection. If we're up, or I feel my team is holding their own in lanes. |
If my team is down and they need the extra helping hand this will stack well with Shadow Zone |
You're not only going to need physical but magic defense. If a magic user is giving you bigger problems than an ADC/physical jungler, buy before Sovereignty or Mystical Mail. If you still need more Stone of Gaia will also help out. |
Allows for an additional 80+ magical damage on top of the 30 from staff with the 600hp and 300 mana. |
Aggressive Aggressive Aggressive. Early game for Cabrakan is amazing. Due to his amount of stuns and necessity to be hit, your ADC/Jungler can just feed off you. If you play passive you won't have a stun built up for your Refraction Shield and you're going to need it. As like most guardians he can take a hit. BUT unlike most guardians, he enjoys it.
Solo Fights
These are fairly simple. STUN. Seismic Crush to initiate, Refraction Shield when they start the fights and your stun is not on cooldown. Tremors while they're stunned for the damage. Whichever you didn't use to initiate the fight, use the other now. Tectonic Shift for the damage and wall. At this point your Tremors should be back up. Rinse and repeat. You will have naturally more hp and defensive than most people you face in solo lane or randomly roaming about. You are a CC machine. Use that to your advantage.
Solo Fights
Grab a couple blue pots when possible since your Tremors are going to decimate your mana, especially early game. Discuss with lane partner and jungler when you're going to dive into the midst of the onslaught that is about to happen. Initiate with your Seismic Crush when there are still a couple of archers on opponents team still alive. Your next basic will stun and the archers will turn on you. After, Refraction Shield for another stun. If you have your Ult, close off their escape and Tremors. The whole time your friends will be having some fun racking up kills and smiling as you're being pounded instead of them.
Feel free to take a few hits by minions, maybe a god's aoe like Whirlwind (if you feel like you can handle it). KEEP YOUR ADC ALIVE! You are their to sponge up as much damage as possible. If you need to, use anything to keep the opposite team off YOUR ADC. I say YOUR'S in caps because he is yours. If they die and you're balls deep, you might as well start your Tremors and hope some random person finds your corpse because you're dead and might get lucky by taking someone down. You make any person stronger and they, you. Remember that.
Team Fights
Team fights are a little more complicated due to your Tremors being your main source of damage and it being stationary. Wait for the over extenders and stun them with Seismic Crush or Refraction Shield (whichever you can if not get both off). This will allow your team to get a few shots off and whittle down their team slowly. Let your team know before you dive in, that way if you have to Tremors they can back you up and throw their aoe's on top of you. Cut off opponents with Tectonic Shift to block off retreats or potentially turn your 5v5 into a 3v5 or better.
I hope this might make a few of you reconsider how Cabrakan might be of some usage in future matches. I think he's alot of fun to play. If you have any comments or questions feel free to drop me a line. Enjoy!
