Introduction

Hello, this is the first guide I've made and basically I just wanted to share one of my favorite builds that really exploits Kukulkan's passive and essentially gives you a free 7th item.

Kukulkan is your typical mage, dropping high amounts of damage with area of affect and skill-shot abilities. His mobility is decent, being a fairly slow god but he does possess a movement speed buff which can increase his speed up to 40% and does remove slows as well as providing immunity to them for this first second after activation.

His damage however excels and used correctly, you'll find your self clearing lanes of minions almost instantly as well as dropping some serious poke on enemy gods.

When you pick Kukulkan you should know that you will be vulnerable and the most likely target for enemy attacks. So you will need to play passive with your tank or warrior in front of you. From behind your support, you should be throwing out your abilities and waiting for their CC to setup your ultimate. I say to wait for their CC because you will have none, other than a slow applied by your first ability and eventually by all of them due to gem of isolation. Knowing this, you can be countered. Assassins and high damage warriors can get on top of you and that will most likely be the end, depending on your team. However, you can be an absolute menace to other mages, tanks, and any slower-type god.

If this all sounds good to you and you'd like to get familiar with a fairly easy god, read on!

Pros / Cons

Pros:

    extremely high damage
    disgusting lane clear
    decent mage mobility
    good poke
    potential carrying prowess
    easy to learn

Cons

    very squishy
    no true escape
    can be countered
    skill shot ultimate

Skills

Zephy

Your one is an interesting ability. Usually called "the spitball" it is a good combination of damage and soft cc. Since it is not your primary damage ability, we will upgrade it second. It provides a slow for 3 seconds and does 75% of your magical power on top of its regular scaling. I find that I mostly use this ability to chase down gods. It can be used to initiate or drop some good damage mid fight, but it really is perfect for slowing a fleeing god and finishing them or letting a teammate do that for you.

Slipstream

"The noodle". This ability is your movement buff. As I mentioned, it does cleanse as well as prevent slows for a second. This ability is good for several situations. Firstly, the obvious escape. You need to keep this ability off cooldown just in case you really need to run away. It can also be used to chase down and set up your one. This provides something
that many mages do not have in the fact that they can close ground without jumps or dashes.

Whirlwind

This tornado is everything to your kit. It is a devastating AoE ability that will apply a tornado to everything that touches it and it does some serious lingering damage. The tornado will damage enemies for 2 and half seconds but gets refreshed if the touch the tornado again. This ability will clear minions. This ability will kill gods. It is your go to. You should start by just throwing it at minions, just ahead of the line. (Enemy gods will do the work for you and touch it). When your comfortable with its cast time, you can try throwing it at specific gods. I mention cast time because there is a delay and experienced players can time you up.

Spirit of the Nine Winds

Your ultimate is an interesting ability. A straight line skill shot that does some of the highest ultimate damage in the game. Which is why it is hard to land. From cast to finish it will take some time and enemies can simply move out of it if they see it coming. So this ability really needs to be set up. Zephyr can sort of do that for you but it is best for another god with hard cc to stun or root them and then you finish them off. I say finish because you will kill mages, hunters, and assassins from about 3/4 health with warriors and guardians being killed around half health or lower.

Items

I have picked out items that will best play into Kukulkan's passive and make you an absolute wrecking ball.

You'll want to start with sanctuary as your first relic. You will be squishy and this can keep you alive in a pinch. Keep in mind that you can cast it while in Zephyr but not the other way around. When you get to your second relic you can really pick whatever you like. If the enemies are using a cc ultimate, grab purification. If not get meditation or blink or whatever you want.

I personally prefer shoes of focus to boots of the magi. They will provide you will early game mana boost which will help keep you in lane as well as constantly clearing enemy minions.

From there we will jump straight into a mana/damage build. You can start with book of toth or warlocks sash. It really doesn't matter. Either way, you will get the other one next. On top of the large mana boosts from both, warlocks sash will add a lot of health and book of toth will give you good mana regeneration.

After that we will get our final stack item, doom orb. It will give you decent mana and mana per second as well as some power. However, at max stacks it grants a massive boost to power. Be careful at this point because dying will reset your stacks.

Polynomicon will proivde you with good enough life steal for a mage as well as a great mana boost and decent power.

Gem of isolation will cap your build with a disgusting passive. All damaging abilities slow your enemies to a crawl! It's gross, trust me. On top of that it adds good health, mana, and power.

Summary

At the end of this build you will be slightly less of a glass cannon and more of a straight up cannon. Your tornado will melt people. Your ultimate can one hit people. You will be nasty. This is all because of your passive. Your high amount of mana will add the power of a rod of tahuti for free. A 7 item build, it's fun and powerful.

I hope this build/guide was helpful! Feel free to message me on here or on xbox at "im dirty dan789". You can ask me questions or if you just wanna play, hit me up. If you wanna talk about spongebob, hey that's cool.
