Introduction

Hi, firstly this is my first guide, and my name is Thanax. Don't spam with me friend invites.

Now, since that's out of the way, lets get down to business. I've been playing Bakasura for a good bit, and I played him a whole lot before the playerstats thing came out. He's broken. Know that if you play him right you win. Almost all the time. Your main objective with Bakasura is to allow a teammate to solo lane for the most part while you support him from the jungles. Now, there may already be a guide for Baka out there, but this is my personal adaptation of his gameplay.

Let the brainfilling commence.

Scores upcoming once I get back into the game, currently shipping out into the Navy.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

+ Strong AD Presence
+ Heavy sustain
+ Good mobility
+ Reliable damage
+ True damage
+ Good pusher with his Ult if needed
+ AMAZING Carry if fed
+ Good for last hitting

Cons:

- Squishy early
- Relies heavily on teammate CC early
- Somewhat poor initiator
- No Mana =/= Death if you're caught
- Ult is lacking in damage
- Relies on farm without kills

Itemization

Items you buy:

OR instead of EITHER ONE

Items may VARY in order at this point, base it off of what the ENEMY team is building.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BUY / AND

TURN OFF AUTOBUY

The items for Baka can vary. Tank Baka, AD Baka, Bruiser Baka, Assassin Baka, and Carrystomper Baka.

I'll get into my favorite build for Baka, which is pretty standard and set.

Firstly, you want to get Hand of the Gods, the Ability.
We then want Warrior Tabi. These two items are your bread and butter for early game. Grab 4 Healing Potion's before you leave as well. These provide good sustain for getting early buffs, it synergizes nicely. You will also need your Creeping Curse early, it makes a huge difference at level one. If you feel you need anti-cc, go ahead and get Purification Beads. They make all the difference between dying and living.

After you get both of those, you have to make a choice. You want to get underway with more presence in the lane you're assisting, or go for a little bit of Mid/Right/Left roaming depending on what lane you're in.

If you chose for more presence, buy a Deathbringer. This will make you have a lot of presence and control on how fights progress. You can go with the standardized item build from there.

If you choose for more roaming presence, buy your Devourer's Gloves and your Qin's Blades. These will allow you to pump out more sustained damage and you can proceed to ruin everyones day with the damage output that is sheer ridiculousness. If you're facing another Bakasura, I suggest picking up the second selection. You'll need more damage. I find Eye of Retaliation to be extremely effective. You will get damaged in close proximity and this is the only alternative to something like Fatalis until it's more effective. You can choose either one on your personal preference though, remember to build for the game, not the build.

Remember,
NO MERCY

Abilities & Skill Order

Abilities:

Key Bind: Passive

Bakasuras attack speed increases by 4% for each enemy that he kills. The buff lasts for 10 seconds and can stack up to 5 times.

Key Bind: 1

Bakasura leaps to his ground target location, doing 100 / 160 / 220 / 280 / 340 (+60% of your physical power) physical damage to all enemies in the area and reducing their damage done by 30% for 3 seconds.

Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana.

Cooldown: 12 s.

eat minions
Key Bind: 2

Bakasura grabs a minion and devours it, healing himself for 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+100% of your physical power) and gaining a 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% movement speed buff for 5 seconds. Buff wielding minions must be at 33% health to be consumed. Up to 6 minions are stored for Regurgitate.

Cost: 75 mana.

Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.

Key Bind: 3

Bakasura passively gains 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 physical power. When activated, he gains an additional 10 / 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 true damage on each strike for 6 seconds.

Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana.

Cooldown: 14 s.

Key Bind: 4

Bakasura exposes his head, regurgitating all of the minions consumed by his Consume Minion ability at his ground target location that slows enemy players by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35%. Bakasuras basic attacks become cone attacks for 6 seconds.

Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 mana.

Cooldown: 90 s.

You have two set paths for this. Assuming you understand Bakasura a bit, and you know how to Support Jungle. Keep in mind, he carries after getting fed. Not before. Don't get Crazy. That's not what Baka is about. He's all about taking advantage of their piss poor positioning.

Now, I get Eat Minions first, for obvious jungle reasons. This should be quite plain. This is what you want to level before anything else for the sustain and the mini-HOTG it offers. This is also your Mid-Fight Go To if you're unsure you'll win.
You level this second seeing as it helps sustain a hell of a lot more than a regular 30% at each level damage reduction as opposed to movement speed, health, and a kill stack for attack speed if you know what I mean.
Side Note: Whenever you are in lane, eat Ogre Minions for your ult. They are a beefy attacker, meaning they have to chase very little to be very effective. This also allows for more pushing potential as well as backdooring.

After that you want your Take Down. You may end up getting caught at some point or your partner will set up a fight for you to simply waltz in to. You don't want to die early with your buffs, and you sure as HELL do not want to give your enemies the opportunity to get the upper hand.

At level 3, unleash the beast. Get Butcher Blades. This is your bread and butter. Most people won't expect the damage output you'll be pumping out so early so fast. They'll start to get pissed and QQ at each other to focus you. But the moment they step near your knives, let them waste some CC, and turn that hungry beast on. You won't know what hit them. They sure as hell won't either.

When you hit level five, it's time to level Regurgitate, this is a slow as well as an AoE attack modifier, stacked with attack speed and ******ed damage output, it'll destroy anyone in your left or right lane as long as you have someone who can handle themselves.

Your skill order from there should be as follows:

> > Eat Minions >

I prefer to take that skill order for the sustain it offers. If you feel you need more of a burst just switch Eat Minions for Take Down. This offers a more significant Melee Nuke as opposed to the, as Cupid puts it, "True Love never dies!" feel that Bakasura seems to fill out quite efficiently with the original skill build.

Playing with a Teammate or a Random

When playing in Solo be sure to do two things:

Make sure picking Baka fits what your team needs, and be sure to learn what works best with Bakasura as a Solo Lane type thing. Preferably magic damage with light or heavy CC. You can carry with that. Slows/Stuns/Walls/Knockbacks/Flips or anything of that nature stack on with the Bakasura Physiology. They literally make your stomach grumble less. You just EAT whatever is in front of you. No discrimination. Sorry for the teamkills.

When choosing your partner make sure that he/she knows what he/she is doing with their God. If you see a Ymir who just started the game, don't go balls deep. Go Shaft-Tickle. Let him get a feel for the gameplay of that God or of another God and allow him sufficient room to let you make love to his skillset. Don't invite him/her to dinner, as you eat everything. That's plain rude and best avoided if you can do so.

A really good tip is to wait until everyone else picks to be sure of what you're picking. Be the Role Filler. 6/10 times you get your way if you want an AD Support/Jungle. Most people dislike playing this as they like to summon Sky Lazers. (Yes Ra I'm looking at you.)

If your god is taken, just do something else. No need to get your panties bunched up.

People who work really well with :

Ymir

Ymir is a god with a TON of CC combined with a wall, and a huge AoE ultimate. A good Ymir as your partner will provide both of you kills. All you have to do is ask him to time his stuff right, and then proceed to do as you will with their anuses. Did I mention Baka's head has tentacles? Not the point though.

Ao Kuang

This guy can last forever by himself in lane. He's a good partner because he can do a ton of damage by himself, as well as combined with you, He will take all of your farm in lane, so be careful about trying to farm there. You will be jungling and ganking a majority of the time in this lane.

Freya

Freya has a slow, a good stun and her ult is long range for fighting those people like Odin or Agni who get away with like 10 health from the both of you. Be sure to gank this lane often and push them out at early levels, this will lead to Freya getting ahead in life as well as you getting a free amount of farm and XP in lane. Gank often in middle.

Sobek

Sobek has a ton of sustain and can provide a lot of damage by himself. He will give you kills if you give him assistance. Gank this lane often unless the opposition has a heavy combo. Be sure to jungle and then farm this lane as well. You will not be able to gank other lanes early, but this lane will provide a lot of gold for you if played correctly. If he grabs Creeping Curse first you will need to grab Girdle of Might.

Anubis

Anubis will stun your opponents and rape their faces. He is a more pinpoint version of Ao Kuang with less AoE's upfront. He will take out single targets with some damage on the other. He will farm the lane easily, and you need to gank this often so that you may get a ton of gold. Anubis will do this very effectively, he will stun, you will rape.

Ares

Ares will provide an insane amount of damage, and he will also CC them to all hell. His ultimate is an immediate single or double kill based on what harassment he put on them, (if he's a good ares he won't need help harassing) and you will show up to finish them off. Camp this lane, assist middle when necesarry.

Bacchus

Bacchus has a ******ed amount of CC and he has strong damage. He can engage quite heavily. You will work very well with his CC and engagements and you need to camp this lane. The more you camp it the more the both of you will snowball. Snowballing in a non-sexual way of course.

Guan Yu

Guan is a great teammate, and a terrible enemy. You will have to help him farm. He can provide medium tier damage, but he will provide nice CC, mobility, and sustain. If you camp this lane and help middle while jungling lightly, your lane will flourish. After he starts to get fed, he won't need your help as much in the lane itself. Camp it until he's as fed as (ha, you're a boss with Baka, won't happen.) you, or at least more fed than the opposition in the lane.

Hercules

He will pull them, smack them around a bit, and then use his giant boulders to rape them. You know what I mean by giant boulders. Anyway, you can either camp this lane or middle. Jungle in between farming. He can handle the lane by himself after level 5, assist him in this endeavor. Otherwise, make mid so fed he'll **** gold.

Artemis

Artemis is a great farmer, and she can provide CC if she needs to. She will need assistance in a tough lane, otherwise ask her to get sustain in the lobby. She will do well after getting fed early, if she's bad, camp the lane and deny the opposition as much farm as possible.

Vulcan

Vulcan can easily handle a 2v1 scenario without your help. If you do well with him early, by denying the opposition farm, or letting him get levels faster than the other team, you can either camp his lane or any other. He won't need your help aside from early levels. Let them know you're going to roam, and then proceed to gank middle and left and coming back to right to farm if you have to. The lane will go in the terms of skill of the gods being played. If he's VS a hard farming comp, he will have trouble unless he turtles. If it's an aggropull comp, help him some. It's all based on what the enemy will be doing.

Everyone else sort of fails with your natural ability to lead the rapefestival. They try and take the spotlight. Pervs. All you really need to do is show up. Smack sh1t. Walk away.

Work with your partners, and achieve victory.

Sobek

God of the Nile

Sobek is one of the more annoying gods to play with for his simplistic ability to disrupt, annoy, change positioning, and do a ton of damage in a mobile fashion. The key to him is knowing how he flips you, how he can disrupt your style of play, and how to counter his all-around annoyance factor. If you don't pay attention to him, he will DESTROY you.

Ymir

Father of the Frost Giants

Ymir is just one of those guys. You squint your eyes at him in lane, if he's smart, he'll force you into wasting your only escape, and wall you off right as you land, and then freeze your demon butt. You can't avoid it, but if he's ******ed, he'll use the wall in your face and try and freeze into it. When he's ulting, jump right as it blows onto his head. No damage taken, learn the timing. Aside from this, get beads, jump out, or kill him fast enough to the point where you no longer have to worry about the fuzzy wanker. Overall, watch it. He will screw with you. If he's bad, he TASTES like a SNOWCONE. Any flavor. If he's good, you taste like chicken.

Guan Yu

The Saint of War

This guy, know as A$$hole Guan, to most people, pardon my money language. He will be IN YOUR FACE...ALL THE TIME. You would have him so far down your throat it would be like ******** with Ron Jeremy. I mean, you can TRY and bite but it's just TOO THICK. The only good time to screw him over is like, ugh. It's hard to say, he has a HEAL, a DASH, he can gain stats EASILY, and he has a STUPID LONG RANGE ULT. This is the kind of guy who, when it gets tough, he gets going, in the other direction, either in your butt or in the enemy team saying SAVE ME! (So Chinese if you ask me...) He is effective in groups. By himself, not so much.
Just kill his partner, he's taking viagra, cialis, and amphetamines, just like...he can't KILL you by himself, but his partners can certainly do it. Positioning is key. Overall, just figure out how he thinks, fight him as if you were him.

Vamana

Fifth Avatar of Vishnu

Vamana is a skill god. If you see him playing a certain way be sure to stay out of his way, and by that I mean if he's killing either your lane partner constantly, and you can't stop it, or your team, similar circumstances, avoid at all costs. He will rape your face, he has better upfront sustain, a better slowing mechanism, a better AoE, and a better escape. The only thing that separates the Vamana's from the Baka's is the early game. Your damage is WAY higher than his early, abuse it. If you do, you win. Be sure to note how he's building to know whether or not to avoid or ignore him. Fulltank = ignore him. DPS Hybrid = Be Wary. DPS = Run.

Ares

The God of War

He is annoying, much like irritable bowels syndrome. He will sit there, and annoy you out of lane. He won't flat out kill you unless you're ******ed. Based on the new cripple system, you need Beads when he's in the game, not Creeping Curse. His ultimate is now ******ed as well, but those chains man. The best strategy for fighting him is killing his partner before he starts to go HC mode. If you can dodge his chains by baiting them, he's useless for like 10 seconds. Avoid engaging him head on, he will win, you can't out sustain a punch to the groin, anus, and left eyeball at once. Three chains man. Be sure to know how his partner works before engaging them head on unless your partner is overall better, like Ymir, Ao Kuang, or Sobek/Hercules. These guys counter this d-bag.

Hercules

The Champion of Rome

This dude. Ugh. The amount of CC he can pump out isn't really viable for Beads, nor is Creeping curse going to stop him. His team is a different story. If they have high CC, base it off of that, if they don't creeping curse will stop the rest of them, or well, slow them. Whatever. Back to Herc. He will either flip you, or push you, or both. When this does occur, eat something. His ally is most likely a damage dealer or caster, or a combination. Be sure to juke his ******ed pull, and if it's an Anubis or something, run around them point blank, they usually have to turn REALLY quickly with their ults and they miss more than half, herc can help by pushing you all over the place. Overall, let your teammate jump in first, and then hop in afterwords.

Artemis 2.0. The new Cripple effect is just overpowered on his ultimate and you can't outsustain him in lane, and he has a much better escape than you do. Only hard CC at early levels with a friend can even come close to denying him an apparently early game. This is a hard opponent, but easily crushed if caught. Positioning is key, like Key Sword.

This is what you should hear when you see him:
OMNOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM OMNOM
"I'm over her-OH MY GO-*gurgle gurgle*"
"*Buuuurp* Just making room for YOU."

You win. You are everything he is, but a lot better in terms of direct damage. A clever Loki (Rare Lokimon) will juke you and juke you and juke you. All you have to do is cone attacks when he stealths near you, pop the ult hide in the minions and start crunch spamming. Loki loses from a slight distance and barely missing due to AoE's. Just...it's so easy. He will occasionally kill you, but you win 70% of the time.

You know that face when you saw Loki? It's like that, but like....add flames, a troll, a dragon, all on your side, and a giant hot dog stand on the other side. That's Artemis. If he's good, just be patient, if he's bad, he's a hot dog stand. We all know how Baka is with food. Proceed.

His ult will be problematic only for a short period of time. You can easily single him out, avoid getting caught in Whirlpool, it has the Cripple effect. Overall, eat.

Now, lets say otherwise, lets just THEORIZE, it's more of a high skillcap to be BAD with him than good. When he finishes burping, **** on him. If his partner is bad, **** on them first. Bacchus can wait. The only thing I can tell you is to let your teammate lead you in this, and help out other lanes. Try to avoid him in general in teamfights unless he's the threat. Aside from that, kill his teammates. He's one of those guys you just can't kill fast enough.

Ao Kuang

Dragon King of the Eastern Seas

Graceful Winds
squallslithertornadoes
spirit's tempest

Ok so. What do we know about Ao Kuang so far? He's long range. He has AoE's, he has a speed buff, and he can slow. Also a huge line knocback, how about just a linebacker. Whatever. Tons of damage, small amount of time if you're smart, don't let him get the upper hand. You may not encounter him often, but when you do he has to be HARD CC'd to kill him easily. Aside from that, you have to either poke him out of your lane, or just die to him and his boyfriend. Just remember, you only get blown away if you get too close ;_;

If he's bad, disregard everything I just said and enjoy dragon dinner.

He Bo

God of the Yellow River

Flood Waters

You're boned.

Lets say you live longer than 3 minutes in his vicinity, unlikely but lets theorize. Between levels 1-3 he has a few options, which you can abuse either way. Ok. So, at level one, he doesn't have his river. You can kill him with Creeping Curse and a friend. At level two, he has either River/Knockup or Knockup/Blastoise-imitations, also known as Water Cannon, anywho, as soon as he hits 3 to 5, you have an even less window, from level 5 on, you're so boned. Hard CC is the only counter.

Agni

God of Fire

path of flame

Why are you in a lane with this guy? Ok. So. Analyze. Super long range, mixed with high poke amounts combined with a stun and copious amounts of escape. Guess what though, you're flammable. If you're fighting Agni, prepare for trouble, make it triple. ALL of his abilities are painful. All of them. Aside from his walking, that is an ability. Be sure to hard CC him and kill him before he comes to, he hurts. He hurts so much. You're basically gasoline by yourself, with a friend at least you have SOME blowback. Same theory of approach with He Bo.

Jungling and Creeps

Left Lane:

You should start either left or right. What you need to do on left is the following:
Minor Harpies, eat the big one @ 30% health and kill the smaller ones. Don't ask for assistance, you're Bakasura for God's Sake (See what I did there?). After you finish with those, you should already have a Healing Potion running. That will provide easy sustain. Immediately attack the blue harpy and Hand of the Gods it down. Eat it quickly and have another potion running. This will allow you to be around level three in lane while they're still level one. As soon as your partner has some CC ready, or your enemies can't do very well in terms of escapes, eat them alive. Be sure to grab Roman Archer's while in lane though, they're good for your ult and cut down on minion DPS if you're attacking enemy Gods in their vicinity. You should also get the Ogre minions as well. They will help your lane push as well as more effectively trap an enemy if you land it directly on them.

Right Lane:

Start with the Speed Ogres, and make your way over to some easy farm on their Blue Buff if you can manage to sneak around their lane. Be sure to have Healing Potion's running. Those Ogre's and Harpies hurt. If you can't manage to sneak into their buff areas, be sure to farm up in lane a tad. Go for the Archer Minions if you can, if not get the Ogres. You need them if you can get them, they increase your movement speed as well as heal you thanks to Eat Minions. Gank middle when you can, and your carry can help you. You won't be able to jungle right very easily due to Blue being cut off from your hungry butt. The more you help either lane, the more you can focus on helping the other later on.

Overall:

Don't get stupid. Don't get greedy for buffs. Stick to the plan or adapt to the situation. Be sure your allies know what you're doing and make sure they understand they're gonna be by themselves a good amount of the time. Rape everything.

Summary

Let me ask you two questions as you finish reading this:

Do you feel as though you can eat your competition?

Do you know how not to be ******ed with Bakasura?

If you can answer at least one of the two, then do some more reading. Please.

If you answer both, nice job.

Remember, don't ever get too......hungry you never know what you might do.

Thanks for reading my Guide!

-Thanax

(Side note: This guide is still a work in progress, I'm working on a video portion as well as certain oppositions to the Bakasura playstyle. If you find difficulties with other Gods stomping you, let me know and I can test it. I'd appreciate any feedback.)

Edits

Edit 1: 05.12.2012: Notifying everyone the new section is up (Notified!) Continuing process of building/changing.

Edit 2: 01.26.2013: I'm back. :) Time to edit this guide to completion/perfection.
Edit 3: 02.01.2013: Edited for more Recent Bakasura buffs/nerfs. Now compatible with current game. Removed Titan's Bane due to it lacking the output Bakasura needs and replaced it with The Executioner for more sustained damage. Overall better choice. Moved some stuff around added BBCode and generally improved the guide overall. Creating video portion currently.
Edit 4: 02.13.2013 Still editing vids, focus is removed from the game for the time being so Fatalis is useless.
Edit 5: 03.04.2013 Streamlining, adding a new section. Videos are still coming along, the updates are too quick for certain things, trying to wait until the game releases for it. Soon to come: New builds.
Edit 6: 03.07.2013 Added BBCode and an extension on the Teammates section. Feel free to check it out.

DUDE. Stop asking for season 3 updates, it is only 2-3 days in. Like give people time.

Also this was updated in 2013 I think.

EDIT: Just wait a bit man, sorry if I sounded rude but people need to mess around with the items a bit before editing guides. Spamming the guides doesnt really help. Also you should check the dates of their last update.

I take out qins and swap it for frostbound/fatalis, cause of the qins nerf they arent nearly as good as they were.

I think the layout of the guide is fantastic, but like a lot of guides on this site, the build is very misguided. You HAVE to build attack speed on bakasura early. An early executioner or fatalis guarantees as many procs of his butcher blades as possible. By level 9, just having fatalis and tabi, you can melt tanks with your 3's true damage IF you have the attack speed. Don't worry about attack power early, that comes from your 3, so you can focus on other stats.

This isn't just my opinion, though. I've seen ponpon and a couple others build him this way or similarly, too.

Again, I really appreciate the time you put into the guide.

GREAT guide, one of my favorites.

But I think that Baka could use having a Transcendence so the blue buff is not nearly as vital.

You replace Beads on one of the other two.

Why is there Hand of Gods, Creeping Curse, AND Purification Beads? Last time I checked you could only have 2 actives

How about adding executioner to your build?
