The healing machine - Aphrodite - Full guide - Conquest solo lane

Here are the items that I start with IN CONQUEST and an (not so efficient) alternative.

Vampiric Shroud is a great starter item that gives you a little sustain in lane with its MP5 and also some health and magical power which is always good. Start with Vampiric Shroud and Uncommon Sash for an early game power.

You can also get Tiny Trinket instead of Uncommon Sash, even though I recomend the Vampiric Shroud + Uncommon Sash start since you can get your Warlock's Sash faster.

Note: With Vampiric Shroud + Uncommon Sash you will not be able to buy any potions so when you are in lane you got to focus on the wave clear and not in poking your enemy, or you will end up low on mana.

Here are some items that I consider being the most important for an Aphrodite

Warlock's Sash

Warlock's Sash is a great item on Aphrodite, because it gives her a lot more health once you finished stacking it and also some mana which is great because you can start poking you enemy.

Core item, because you will need the movement speed and the cooldown reduction. You can replace for Shoes of the Magi as I will talk about in the situational items.

---

Great item, gives you a lot of magical power and MP5, while also providing 25% Cooldown Reduction. It can be replaced by Breastplate of Valor as I will talk about in the situational items.

---

Absolutely necessary item that not only gives you a great passive that increases you heals but also gives you movement speed which Aphrodite lacks , a lot of magical power and some more health.

Here are some situationals that you can use and I'll explain why you can use them ... Some of them can replace those core items.

Lotus Crown

It's an option even though I don't think it's very good on Aphrodite, I would rather use it on gods with aoe heals like Hel, Ra or even Chang'e. With that said i may consider using it when my team is a bit behind but never when it's ahead

---

This is an item that can replace Chronos' Pendant. It also provides 25% cooldown reduction but it gives pysical protection instead of magical power and mana instead of MP5. Good item if u are against a pysical god in the solo lane or if the adc/jungler is fed or going a lot of times to gank you.

---

This is a good item, gives a lot of power and mana but with the other items you buy you get enough mana and MP5 in the late game.
Note:If you get Book of Thoth you must not get Warlock's Sash since the price is to high and you will have a hard time stacking both.

Now, this is an interesting item on Aphrodite since it doesn't provide the cooldown reduction that Shoes of Focus provide, but you can go with Shoes of the Magi + Chronos' Pendant or Breastplate of Valor + another cooldown reduction item and you get the cdr cap or 35% which is great ... Now you ask: Why would we want to use 3 slots when we can just use 2 to max or almost max the cooldown reduction? And the answer is: The 3rd item is usually a defensive one. Once you want to get you 3rd item you either get more protection or speed up Aphrodite which is always usefull to make her harder to kill.

While Breastplate of Valor is for fed physical gods, you can get Void Stone to get some protections to defend you from those bloody mages while also giving you some magical power

---

Obsidian Shard is actually a pretty good item, it gives you some pen and plenty of magical power... I recomend getting this item if you are going up agaist tanky gods like Hercules or Vamana

---

Winged Blade is a good item that gives you more movement speed, some healh and also 10% cooldown reduction. You might consider getting this item if you go with Shoes of the Magi, but never if you choose to go Shoes of Focus. Also it's great if the enemy team has a lot of slowers like Nemesis

---

This is a pretty good item on Aphrodite, since her third ability Love Birds is a ticking one, where enemies take damage every .5secs. She can also use Back Off! on the end of the ticks of Love Birds to get around 20% more damage on it.

---

This is an item with great stats, giving you a lot of magical power, 10% cooldown reduction and some lifesteal. It's passive is pretty good, since you can help your mid laner with some lifesteal.

I recommend using this item only when you go with no defensive items (my second build)

So, this ends our situational items section and all I wanted to say is:

Choose how you wanna play:
Offensive: Go with Shoes of Focus + Chronos' Pendant (or Breastplate of Valor)
Defensive (kinda): go with Shoes of the Magi + Chronos' Pendant (or Breastplate of Valor + another cooldown reduction item like Winged Blade or Pythagorem's Piece

Now the actives that in my opinion are the most worth getting on Aphrodite

This is almost a core active for Aphrodite, it gives her CC immunity but it also reduces her cooldowns by 3s which is great for spamming your Love Birds.

---

This is an active that I'd get if the enemy team has healers like Hel, Ra, Sylvanus or another Aphrodite

Note: This is not an active you want to get if anyone else on your team has it.

---

This is an item that you might consider if the enemy team has a lot of high damage ults like Poseidon, Ra and Bakasura all in the same team, and you don't have your ult always up so you will buy aegis to not recieve any damage from those ults. You can also use it to let your team get closer to help you while you are standing still

---

This is a great item to increase your heals of course, but also to speed you and your teammates and make yourselves immune to slows.

---

This is an item that you will want to get early in the game if your enemy is pushing like crazy and you are falling a bit behind. I rarely use this active but I think it works pretty good when I buy it.

---

Most games I go with Greater Purification and Heavenly Agility, but sometimes I consider the other 3 actives I've mentioned before.

So, this is a build that I've recently tried out and it worked out quite well. I was able to do a lot of damage because of all that penetration and also heal A LOT since your heal scales with magic power. In a 33 minutes game I ended up with 44k damage (highest in my team) and also 19k healing!

With this build, just by using your simple combo (see bellow in the skills section) you can get a squishy target really low, or even one shot them!

The only cons about this build is that you are pretty much only damage, you don't have any defense or even Warlock's Sash.

Try it out ;)

This is pretty much an useless ability if you are playing in the solo lane.

The only use I can see for this passive is if you are playing support Aphrodite

What this ability does is that it makes you linked with the person you want and therefore be able to heal them. You also increase your and your ally's movement speed.

If her Kiss hits an ally, it will make you linked with him/her and if it hits an enemy it will stun him/her.

If you have an ally linked with you, you can use Kiss again on an enemy and the link between you and your ally will NOT break, and the enemy will be stunned for 1sec and your ally will get a damage buff for 5secs.

However, if you kiss an ally and then another ally you will be linked with the ally you kissed last. Also, if your ally goes to far away from you, the link will break.

Cons of Kiss:
Easily bodyblocked or missed.
Long cooldown if missed early.

If Aphrodite is linked with someone with her Kiss, an explosion will happen on the range of both of you. If players get hit by both explosions they will only take damage from one of them

Cons of Back Off!: You need to be very close to the enemy to do the damage.

Cons of Love Birds:
Very easily avoidable.
Healing is easily countered.

Undying Love is pretty much one of the best ults in the game. With it you can avoid ults like Release The Kraken! and Searing Pain. You and your soul mate are pretty much immune to everything for the short duration of your ult.

This is a combo that will allow you to do plenty of damage and healing a bit too. Useful for team fights.

Start with your Kiss to stun you opponent.

Then use Love Birds to get that good damage going and also your healing if you need it.

Finish up with your Back Off! to get some more damage and also to slow your enemy so that your teammates can catch up to your opponent if he dashes away

As the combo name says this is a combo to get away from annoying melee gods like Kali and Chaac

First of you want to use that Back Off! to get them away from you, do some damage and also slow them to give you a more clear chance of escaping.

Secondly, you will want to turn around (as fast as possible so that you won«t get the moving backwards penalty) and use Love Birds to heal up, preferably hitting your enemy.

Then, you will want Kiss them once they get distance again(either by dashing, sprint etc...)

Lastly you will want to use Undying Love (only if needed ofc- when they get distance again)

Once your Undying Love duration ends your Love Birds should be up again.

So, this is a combo that I usually use when i'm like in a 1 vs 2 or even 1 vs 3, and I actually have survived sometimes with it while still doing some decent amount of damage

To use this combo you will need:
-Max or 35% Cooldown Reduction
- Greater Purification tier 3
- Love Birds level 5
- Undying Love at least level 3 (recommended)


You will want to start by using Kiss as soon as someone gets in your range to do it and immediately throw your Love Birds and Back Off! simultaneously.

Then you will want to use your ult Undying Love if you are getting low on health (only if needed ofc).

And this is where Greater Purification comes in handy. You use it once your Undying Love duration is over (to reduce your cooldowns) and then throw Love Birds again (they should be up as soon as you use beads)

Happily go away :D

Anubis is pretty counter-able by Aphrodite:
If Anubis uses Plague of Locusts, Aphrodite can just Kiss him.

If Anubis gets to close to you to use Mummify on you (if he uses it away from you, you can just easily dodge it), you can use Back Off! (before he uses it ofc)

If Anubis uses his ult Death Gaze on you, you simply use your ult Undying Love. You can also buy Greater Aegis to avoid the damage and use Undying Love in another situation.

Cabrakan is not very seen in the solo lane, but he's surely seen more in the solo than in any other role, so I'll just include him here.

Ok, so Cabrakan is pretty much a copy of why Anubis is easily countered by Aphrodite

So, here are the things you can easily do to avoid his damage:

If Cabrakan uses Seismic Crush, you can just Kiss him to make sure he can't hit you or Back Off! if he is already close to you since it is a melee ability. If you avoid Seismic Crush you will also avoid Refraction Shield since that's his combo.

If Cabrakan uses Tremors either on you or on the minion wave, just Kiss him. If you by any chance miss, you can always use Back Off, since Cabrakan isn't knock back immune while he is doing his Tremors

Guan Yu is more often seen in the support role nowadays, but I'll just consider him as he's going to the solo lane.

If Guan Yu uses his only damaging ability Taolu Assault, you can easily cancel it bye giving him a Kiss.

If Guan Yu uses his dash to go through you, because his dash is pretty shot, you can just use your Love Birds or your Back Off! and you are almost guaranteed a hit.

If Guan Yu uses his ult Cavalry Charge you can just use Undying Love at the end to not get stunned. Also you can get Improved Sprint to cancel the slow in his ult.

For his heal Conviction, well, yours is 50 times better so don't worry about it ;D

Loki is a pretty easy match up for Aphrodite.

Aphrodite's wave clear is way better than Loki's . Actually his only wave clear comes from his Decoy. If he levels up the Decoy first, he can one shot the minions, but the damage he will do to you is lower than the damage you will do to him.

If Loki uses his Vanish, you can instantly use your Kiss close to where he used it and you can, with some luck, hit him and stun him.

If Loki uses his Assassinate you can use Undying Love. It's not about the Assassinate damage, it's about the damage that comes after from his Aimed Strike.

Hel is not really the type of goddess that you are like "OMG, it's a Hel I'm dead", what really makes her an average difficulty match-up for Aphrodite is the fact that she can clear her wave pretty easy in the early game, and then heal her minions with Repulse / Inspire.

So, what to do when you face a Hel?

1- Get Warlock's Sash early, and then rush Shoes of the Magi, for a better wave clear.

2- When she comes near the wave to use Repulse / Inspire on the minions, just Kiss her and use Back Off!. She might go right away for the heal, and then you straight away use your Love Birds on the wave.

3- Get Shielded Teleport. This is not really mandatory, but you can use if you are struggling a lot with her clear potential.

Odin is not really seen a lot these days in the solo lane, but when he does he can hurt you, mostly when he uses his ult Ring of Spears when the enemy jungler is coming to your lane because that ult reduces your heal by 100%. Also his wave clear is insane, since he can clear the entire wave at level 3.

So, what to do when you face an Odin?

1- Buy Combat Blink, because it allows you to teleport out of Ring of Spears, even if you have taken damage.

2- Buy Wards. Buying Wards is essential, not only when facing Odin, but when you are facing Odin, it can save you from death. The reason behind it is that Odin will only be able to kill you if the enemy jungler is coming to your lane and if Odin uses Ring of Spears. Wards can see if the enemy jungler is comming to you or not. If he is you can just sit under tower and force the jungler away.

3- Buy Shielded Teleport, to match his insane wave clear (not necessary), but it's always good to have)

4- Get Warlock's Sash early, and then rush Shoes of the Magi, for a better wave clear.

Hercules is a pretty powerful god, with insane self heal with Mitigate Wounds, so he's pretty much immortal against you, because most of your damage is a tick damage, and he's heal is also a tick heal. Also he can dish out a lot of damage.

So, what to do when you face a Hercules?

1- His wave clear is pretty weak, and he has to use 2 of his skills to clear the wave. Take advantage of that and go with Shoes of Focus for the cooldown reduction to spam your abilities more often and force him under his tower so that he can loose gold.

2- Play carefully when he has with 2nd ability Earthbreaker. If you get hit by it follow step 3

3- Buy Purification Beads. If he lands his Earthbreaker on you just use and you'll be fine.

4- Don't panic using your Undying Love. This is pretty much a rule to every god, but I'll just include it here since it's important. Use it when Hercules uses Excavate.

5- Get Obsidian Shard this gives you a lot of penetration which is good to have a chance to kill him. Replace it with Rod of Asclepius and get it later.

Tyr is a medium difficulty against Aphrodite mostly he can knock you up and you can't use your Undying Love or any other ability while you're knocked up. Also his 2 Power Cleave in this guard stance can heal for quite a bit, so he can heal up when you use your Love Birds. Kind of the same problem as Hercules.

So, what to do when you face a Tyr?

1- Fearless is his main wave clear ability. When he uses his Fearless in assault stance on you he basically doesn't have wave clear. Punish him for that using your simple combo. (after killing the enemy minions ofc)

2- Buy Purification Beads. This is essential to counter his Fearless in assault mode. When he uses his on Fearless on you, just use Purification Beads and keep fighting.

3- If he uses Fearless on the minion wave just use your Kiss on him.

Chang'e is the worst match-up possible for Aphrodite. Her Moonflower Dance reduces heals by 50%! She has a great wave clear is insane with her Crescent Moon Dance, she basically has your ult every 20secs with Moonlit Waltz and her ult does a lot of damage. She doesn't even need to go to base to buy items since her rabbit will do it for her (if she gets Book of Thoth she can basically stay in lane forever!)

What to do when you face a Chang'e:

1- Try not to get hit by her Moonflower Dance, so that you won't get the healing reduction.

2- Use your Love Birds at the wave and then go under tower.

3- Go with Shoes of the Magi first instead of Warlock's Sash so that you can clear the wave more efficiently and then get Warlock's Sash on your second slot-

4- Keep distance to her, so that you can avoid her Waxing Moon with your Undying Love

5- Get Greater Purification so that you can use them if she hits her Waxing Moon .

6- Get Shielded Teleport to match her insane wave clear. (not mandatory)

Bakasura is a great solo laner with nice wave clear and killer ultimate Regurgitate which is my Bakasura is hard vs Aphrodite. Aphrodite has no escapes, 0 mobility and is an easy target for Regurgitate since all the Bakasuras will get Hastened Fatalis.

What to do when you face a Bakasura:

1- Try to push him under tower with your wave clear since it's slightly better than his in the early game.

2- Buy Improved Sprint early to stop the slow and get away easily.

3- Use your Undying Love properly, don't rush to use it.

4- Don't use your Kiss and Back Off! in the first second after he ulted, since he is cc immune.

Example:

You are healing by 100 per tick with your Love Birds.

Some simple math:

100 x 6= 600 which is what you should be healing

*adc or solo laner gets Brawler's Beat Stick*

100 - 40% = 60 which is what you will heal per tick

60 x 6 = 360 which is what you will heal in total

600 - 360 = 240 which is the amount of heal reduced.

Example: you are healing 100 per tick with your Love Birds

Simple maths:

100 x 6 = 600 which is what you should be healing

*support goes Pestilance*

100-20% = 80 which is what you will heal per tick

80 x 6 = 480 which is what you will heal in total

600 - 480 = 120 which is the amount of heal reduced
