King of the Eastern Seas is probably the most fun I’ve had with an ultimate. It has a very short range, and is impossible to miss. It even has a cute dragon icon it’ll put over the target’s head when you’re aiming, just in case there are multiple Gods near and you want to be sure you’re going to hit the right one. Even with all these things it CAN be wasted. How do you ask? The execute threshold.

In order to execute (instakill) your enemy, they must be under a certain percentage of health (23/26/29/32/35% depending on rank) when you use the ability. You can tell that they are ready to be executed because a big X will show on them. At this point using king of the eastern skies will turn you into a dragon and you’ll grab the god in your maws, fly into the air with them, and murder them in the sky. You’ll do a happy wiggle dance then get to choose where to land within 200ft. You’ll do damage to anyone near when you land as well as refresh all your charges!

So what happens if you use it while the enemy is above the execute threshold? You boop them on the nose with damage equivalent to Wild Storm and pop them in the air for a moment. This can be helpful depending on the situation, but totally not as cool.


Once you’re in the air you have some choices to make. Do you stay and fight or do you run? There is no shame in high tailing it out of there if you have low health. Conversely, you can use this opportunity to take out another enemy. Landing on them will do damage to everyone within 20ft. No mana? No problem. Your charges refreshed remember? That’s three free abilities. Dragon Call to burst them down, followed by your Wild Storm to finish em off. If you need to you’ll have the last charge for a Water Illusion escape.

If used while under an enemy tower you will still be targeted while in the air. You will NOT be hit until you land again. This means that if you tower dive while nearly dead and land far away from the tower, it IS possible for you to still die to a tower shot.

King of the Eastern Seas WILL execute Kumbhakarna even if his passive is up.

warlock's sash instantly gives you 300 health and 50 magic power, but can give you +110 Magical Power & +600 Health with full stacks. The health is very useful for a squishy little mage, even one who pretends he is an assassin.
