Anubis: God Of The Dead

Hey guys, this is my first guide on SmiteFire but I feel my experience with this game and particularly Anubis allow me to make a guide that is validated. The descriptions will be fairly short due to the simplicity of the build itself. Thanks, and enjoy.

With the introduction to focus in Smite, Anubis immediately became the most dangerous God in the game. The very best way to kill opponents is simply by stunning with Mummify, quickly dropping his Grasping Hands ability right on the stunned foe, and then either using Plague of Locusts or his ultimate ability, Death Gaze, in rapid succession. There are few enemies that this sequence does not severely damage or kill. This guide will explain how to best maximize the success that this sequence can have.

-Boots of the Magi grant Anubis a much needed speed boost early in the game.
-Doom Orb is a key item because it allows for much needed increased mana regen and temporary stacks that allow Anubis to be very dangerous should he live for extended periods of time.
-Gem of Isolation is an amazing item for Anubis, giving him a focus increase to make his stun last for longer, along with his slowing skills. On top of that, the passive of the item makes opponents 20% slower for 2 seconds should they be hit by an ability, allowing his lack of jump/escape to not hurt him quite as much.
-Void Stone is a fantastic item, as it gives magical power, magical protection, and focus. Anubis' pitiful defenses make this item very viable.
-Rod of Tahuti should be used on every ranged mage, due to the sheer power that it grants. Once this item is fully purchased, Anubis will seldom end a battle on the losing end.
-Obsidian Shard is a good closing item because it allows Anubis to penetrate enemies that have invested a lot of gold into magical protection. By endgame, Anubis' damage output will be greatly increased by this.

Anubis' third skill, Grasping Hands, is an excellent farming skill and imposes a slow on enemies, therefore should be focused on first. Following that, his first skill, Plague of Locusts, should be second, followed by his second skill, Mummify.
