Anhur is probably the strongest ranged ad in the game, only apollo and maybe neith close to his level.
Your goal with Anhur is like any other carry; farm, get kills, get fed and most importantly - CARRY YOUR TEAM!
For starters, you should get death's toll and t1 warrior tabi and a single health pot for early sustain, peacefully farming in your lane - ymir, sobek, bacchus and guan are all good lanepartners for Anhur.
You should focus your skills in following order: 4>2>1>3 - why focus the 1 over the 3 you might ask? Simply; you don't use your 3 for damage, unless chasing a low healthed enemy - your 1's slowing and steroid is to good to not focus over the leap.
Anhur has a strong lanephase where you easily can get kills if you manage to stun an enemy with your 2, like in a ymir wall, after a sobek fling, or even the famous pillar stun!
You should always get death's toll and boots first, then you can decide for yourself if you want devour's gloves or the executioner as 3rd item; soul eater works instead of devours gloves if you really want - you should always get these items 3rd and 4th though.
Deathbringer is obviously for getting those nice hardhitting crits on your enemies, and after that is the big debate - rage or titan's bane? The answer is simple: if they have fed tanks you get titan's bane, but if it's only the other carries that is problematic, get rage - you will crit over 600 on them if they have no protection!
Your role in teamfights should be to pick of a target with your stun and focus him with your team, then try to peel as many of as possible with your ult, since it can hit multiple enemies.
