IN SHORT: Pros / Cons

+Very high attack speed, increased even further by her 'vengeful assault'.
+Capable of 1v1 with anyone, even other hunters and assassins with good trap placement and CC negation/counter with ultimate.
+Can lifesteal huge amounts of health back, lessening the need for extensive recalls.
+Automatically has crit chance, and so capable of dishing out a nasty surprise.
+Great CC for a hunter with a root, slow and 1.5 second stun.
+Very good at bumping up the K/D with some fast-attacking killsteals!

-Very low health with no added protections, and so very vulnerable if disarmed and unable to lifesteal.
-No escapes besides a minor move speed buff and the ability to trap and slow attackers if you're lucky.
-Very weak in the beginning with no lifesteal or mana stacks, and poor attack speed, even with steroids.
-Beware that rooted ranged enemies can still basic attack and use abilities!

With this build proper trap placement in the heat of combat is key as it allows you to accurately focus all of your shots from vengeful assault onto a stationary target.

Trust me on this one.

Yes, there's not much crit. No, I don't care, because her passive gives her an extra 15% in addition to deathbringer's 20. And because her attack speed is so high thanks to the bows and her vengeful assault (hereafter to be referred to as 'super ultra mega-roids'). She's pretty mana-hungry at the start, so the morningstar will get her on the way to transcendence early, while also giving some physical power and allowing her to get a bit more poke in at the start with her volley. In the beginning, she is incredibly weak though. Even if you manage to get the root and use 'roids, you probably won't be able to get the kill, so play it safe. Stacks are imperative in this build because without that lifesteal she won't be a hard match for anyone in a 1v1.

As for tactics, it's fairly simple: poke with the volley, basic attack the minions and use the 'roids if necessary, place down traps in places they're likely to go through in combat and wait for some idiot to go and walk into them. Once they're rooted, push 'roids and give em hell, use the volley for the slow and to finish them off. If they're caught in a previously placed trap, put another one right behind them in the direction they're most likely to retreat to for 4 whole seconds worth of immobility! While using your ult, try and place traps behind just them where they're likely to try and run away, and remember that the CC immunity and stun can be a very useful counter attack to a lot of ultimates, especially as you can lifesteal as they're stunned. Place down traps as you retreat, slow their pursuit with the volley and use the steroids' movement speed buff to get away. Last of all, add me on SMITE: KILLbieber98627

Double stacking is terrible on Hunters because it takes longer and you get the same DPS just by building Transcendence and Asi as you would double stacking. Also that's cheaper.

A few standard Artemis builds for this season in conquest would look something like this:

This has more non-crit damage than the Unicorn build, AND can still crit, the only difference is you have no sustain. Used for early game waveclear and split push potential:

Golden Bow> Transcendence> Warrior Tabi> Qin's Sais> Titan's Bane> The Crusher

or

Relies on Higher Crit Chance.
Ninja Tabi> Transcendence> Qin's Sais> Deathbringer> Titan's Bane> Malice

or

Unicorn build, for teh damage and teh sustain:
Warrior Tabi> Devourer's Gauntlet> Asi> Qin's Sais> Titan's Bane> Brawler's Beat Stick

Your build is terrible simply because you have no real balance of anything. You're trying to double stack which is lengthy, and you can get the same damage with one of those stacking items and a starter. So because you wasted a third item slot on a second stacking item, you realized you had no pen or attack speed, and went with Ichaival. Then you realized, my attack speed is still too low, so you went with Odysseus' Bow. Then you thought, "Well I have high-ish power and and she has built in crit chance, I'll just get Deathbringer and that will give me the damage I need combined with my attack speed!" And you did all this without running any numbers or simulations.

I main Artemis and I can honestly say this has WAY to much attack speed. There is no point in shooting fast if you have no damage, instead of oddeyses bow run something with penetration, or maybe shifter shield, but that's just my opinion.

This would be the case if AS and steriods worked on total AS.
Sadly for your argument it doesn't. The % increase an item gives depends on a gods base AS (the one at lvl 0 the scaling is considered the same as items/steriod increase). Every item or steriod % will increase the AS by a set amount (base AS x %) depending on the god.

So 1 item doesn't affect the other item or a steriod in anyway (otherwise stuff stack really weird as the 1st facor (item) increases AS but also gets increased by a second factor (item 2) which increases the second factor again which then increases the first factor etc. ending in having max attackspeed in 2 items or so. If you catch my draft)

As for crit, because she has so many shots thanks to her attack speed, a lot of them will stil crit and do immense damage regardless.

Most adc build with proper pen will hit the same amount of attack speed as you anyway or really close. And are a lot better when a target with protections like a warrior shows up to destroy you.

(also in your hunter 1 of example pen doesn't matter that much as hunters barely have any protections and still that hunter can 2-3 shot you while you take around 5-8 shots (low amount of guarenteed crit compared to a normal hunter artemis build with 2 crit items))

Max stacks max level she actually gets around 350 a hit, and a hit every half a second, and (in the hypothetical hunter-off I'm imagining) if the opponent misses just one shot, she can take 'em down easy - the slow also hurts their strafing and make it easier to land all those hits.

Still, whether or not she's better as a bullet hose or being a little more snipey, I end up destroying people left right and center with this build. Apparently it does somehow work quite well.

I'd rather hit 800 per hit a bit slower, with a proper crit+pen build than hit 100 per hit shooting faster, with more attack speed but less power and no pen...

Also good trap placement doesn't guarantee you'll actually catch anyone with them, as there's no guarantee an enemy will walk into one, no matter where it's placed.

CakeSlapping + Zeznex: Artemis' steroid works off a percentage increase, and not a set amount, so having Odysseus' +40% will increase her attack speed passively, and turns her into a bullet hose with the 'roids. The extra chain damage can also help with poking and securing kills.
Devourer's gives more lifesteal than something like soul eater, and boosts power too, plus, if you need Asi's bonus low health lifesteal, You're already taking too much damage. Against assassins all you need is good trap placement.
There is a small amount of pen in the build (Ichaival) however with the sheer number of arrows hitting your target each second, no amount of health or armour will be able to stand.
As for crit, because she has so many shots thanks to her attack speed, a lot of them will stil crit and do immense damage regardless.

xxxmlglegitxxx: Firstly, your username is awful, and secondly, if I do suck, why is it that i win almost every single match and end up carrying my team?

Sorry to say it, but this is actually a terrible build...
Double Stacking is TERRIBLE on ADCs, and Devo's overall is pretty much ****. You have no pen in your build and O-Bow is not worth it at all, especially on Artemis who has a huge steroid. By not buying Malice and Deathbringer you're wasting her passive and by not having Qin's you're missing out on so much damage. Asi is a much better lifesteal option and Soul Eater is a good second choice.

Late game odyseus bow and no real penetration?

I wouldn't personally say this is an "actually good build"...

Odyseus bow is more of a farming tool that you want early game, and without penetration you'll be losing A LOT of damage through mitigation...
