Intro

Given the absence of Agni guides for season 3, I decided to write this one. Agni is the first god I bought and have mained him ever since; this guide is a result of a painstaking trial and error (along with some advice). This build always worked great for me and hopefully, it will work for you too.
NOTE : This guide is tested and working for CLASH, ARENA AND JOUST ONLY.

How to meatball

The hardest thing about Agni is hitting your combos and ultimate. So, the key to good Agni play is practice, really. As far as the general strategy goes, there isn't much to talk about, imo. Your first skill is used literally just to combo with the other 3; your second skill is nothing more than a damaging ability and your third skill is an escape. You can use it offensively too, but don't do it unless you're 100% sure you can get a kill or get away. Your passive gives the enemy a damage-over-time effect after being hit by any of your spells except the first one after you've landed 4 successful basic attacks. Make sure you charge this whenever you can early to mid game. Your ultimate is your alpha and omega : it's got the biggest range, no mana cost and can hold up to 3 charges (20 sec cooldown for each). Spam this plenty, but keep at least 1 or 2 for kills or saves.
Your job is to stay back, clear creeps and wait for the opportunity to strike. This should be either after the fight has been initiated by one of your own or by the enemy. You generally shouldn't initiate yourself, since your stun only lasts 1 second until you get a good amount of damage and can dispatch a character and give your team a massive advantage. After getting said damage, don't be afraid to get aggresive; just mind your health, cooldowns and surroundings, since you are incredibly easy to kill once caught.

Combos

Once you've seen an opportunity to attack, your starting combo should generally be 4, then 1 under it. It sounds much more difficult than it is. Use this to stun your opponents and secure kills, save your teammates or disable the enemy so you can get close. You can use additional ult strikes after this or run in and blast your 2.
If your ult is on cooldown, the best way to stun your opponents is to put down your 1, then immidiately rush to the area of effect with your 3. After that, run back behind your team unless you want your guts for garters. You can also stun by putting the fumes on the fire that stays after you use your 3. This is especially good if you're being chased, but takes a while to get right.
Another way to ignite your 1 is with your 2, but use it only to clear larger waves. You can stun the enemies with this combo too, but only if you're 100% certain it will hit. The trick with this combo is that, while it's hard to hit, it pays off : it's the only combo with your 1 where the damage from your other spell spreads evenly across the area. If you're skilled enough, you can even kill a running enemy by using the fumes to increase the range of your 2.

Doom orb, you know it is such an underrated item. But if you play defensively it can rip through some enemies.

What do u recommend as starter ?

Vampiric shroud + shoes or level 2 shoes ?

Darkscizzar | July 18, 2016 7:50am
Again, I only play the modes with extra money, so I have enough to get cooldown boots right away. Otherwise, if I go for shoes of the magi, I buy lvl 2 boots and the lost artifact

Very sorry for the late replies, it's been a bit rough the past few months and I honestly did NOT expect this guide to become this popular. I'm glad I've been able to help you all and I'll make sure to reply more often in the future!

Great guide.

What is the difference between build 1 and build 2 ? Is build 1 for joust ?

How about Conquest ?

Darkscizzar | July 17, 2016 5:59am
Build 1 is more of a supportish build where you don't have that much damage, but can spam your spells a lot and stun enemies very frequently, whereas build 2 is meant for absolute destruction. These builds are completely untested on conquest, so I really don't know if it would work well there (probably not).

Love the build dude. I thought it was gone cause I couldn't find it when I searched for guides. Gotta make sure I bookmark this so I don't lose it.

First off, I love the build. But I found one thing that I improved on. I swapped Soul Reaver with Polynomicon and I was getting triple kills all the time.

Builds in general are more like guidelines, you will very frequently find an item that suits your playstyle more and generally do better with than what you might find in the guide itself. Either way, I'm glad I coud help :)

Sometimes, specially if you are playing vs a loki you may want to get some protections, some people think that if you get a Breasplate of Valor for examen you wont have enought damage for lategame but that's not true at all, also Warlock Sash is good vs loki aswell, everything that would let you survive the oneshot xD.

It's true, I've done that a few times myself. I did include the defensive items in the guide which you can build if you want to ; the description for it is just a joke

Thanks for this guide! But some explanation to the items wouldn't hurt.

One issue: you put 6 noxious fumes and 4 rain fire. But besides that, everything else is perfect.

Glad you think so! Be sure to tell me how it works out

First of all, thanks! Thank you for making a season 3 Agni build, I'm almost positive its the only one posted here. As for the build itself, I have yet to try it yet I cant deny how useful it looks. Cant wait to try it!
