Introduction

Bakasura is for me the epitome of a jungle assassin. He centres around damage and dps with added sustain in the form of his '2'. If you're looking for a god that can come in like a wrecking ball, dish out huge amounts of damage then escape back into the jungle before the enemy can react then Baka is for you.

My build is centred around roaming for ganks early game and split and counter pushing towers in mid-late game. In my experience no one can burst a tower down quite as quickly as Bakasura. This is a high risk high reward build that can really punish a team with poor communications and positioning.

Items

Starting Items

Death's Toll Now I know many people would argue that Bumba's Mask is better for jungle-ing, but for me I prefer this. It may not help quite as much with jungle-ing than Bumba's but it does help and it has the additional bonus of helping when you're in lane or fighting other gods. Increases your health, physical power and adds a slight heal/mana heal to basic attacks, if you have issues jungleing then consider going for Bumba's instead.

Achilles' Spear This I know will be contentious. I use this to when I need to clear a jungle camp quickly (mid camps for example) or when 1-on-1 with the enemy jungler. It adds a huge boost to your attack speed, 35% life steal and a movement buff, but at the cost of taking more damage. Use this when 1-on-1 in combination with your '3' and so long as you can keep landing your basic attacks you will win, miss lots of attacks or get hit by CC and you will die. Just do not use this in big team fights.

Healing Potion Mana Potion - These should be pretty self explanatory. Use them to improve sustain. You could potentially drop the health one in favour of two mana and use your '2' to heal.

Early Game Items

Ninja Tabi Attack speed, movement speed and physical power. These boots have everything that Baka needs. Some people prefer the Warrior Tabi which gives more physical power at the cost of attack speed, but I swear by the Ninja's.

The Executioner More attack speed! More physical power! This item strips away the physical protections of the enemy gods with each basic attack. Great for dealing with the tanker opponents!
If you're going to be primarily pushing and trying to get towers rather than kills this item could be swapped out for Titan's Bane, which provides a penetration that also works on structures but at the cost of the attack speed buff.

Mid Game Items

Bloodforge Lots of physical power and some life steal, its passive works great with Baka who is purely an auto attack hero giving even more life steal and physical power. This item can really make the difference between just loosing a fight and winning.

Hastened Fatalis Provides more attack speed and movement speed both things Baka massively relies on. It passive also means you can stick to people like glue, between this and your leap no one should be escaping!

Item 5

This is where you need to start making decisions about how the game is going and what you need.
Pick one from the following:

Golden Bow This item is great, really under appreciated. Adds a small amount of crit chance (10%) - by this point your attack speed should be so high that even 10% will result in a descent number of crits. Additional physical power more damage per hit! And additional movement speed. Plus it's passive means your damge from basic attacks spill over onto nearby enemy for 50%.
When and why to buy Golden bow
Deathbringer This is the item to go for if you're interested in pure DPS and 'kill potential'. A huge increase in physical power and good crit chance (20%) combo'd with your huge attack speed and the item passive (extra damage on crits) makes this item the dps item for Baka.
When and why to buy Deathbringer
Magi's Blessing The only defensive item I ever buy on Baka. This is primarily for its anti-CC passive, but bonus health and protections never hurt!
When and why to buy Magi's Blessing
Qin's Sais More physical power and more attack speed. It's passive deals damage based upon the targets max hp. This is great for dealing with the tankier opponents.
When and why to buy Qin's Sais

Item 6

If you haven't already then it is time to sell the old Death's Toll and replace it with something more relevant to the end game.

Qin's Sais More physical power and more attack speed. It's passive deals damage based upon the targets max hp. This is great for dealing with the tankier opponents.
When and why to buy Qin's Sais

Rage This item will pretty much double the frequency of your crits. Physical power more crit chance and a passive that increases crit chance further. This is great for scoring consistent crits.
When and why to buy Rage
Magi's Blessing This is primarily for its anti-CC passive, but bonus health and protections never hurt!
When and why to buy Magi's Blessing

Active Items

I generally don't bother with Hand of the Gods on Baka, since its nerf means it doesn't help with pushing lanes mid-late game anymore and between his 2 and 3 he can clear camps very quickly after level 2 anyway.

As stated I mainly go for Achilles' Spear as mentioned in the main build, the second active varies slightly but as a rule of thumb will normally be Greater Purification.

If the other team doesn't have any substantial CC you can consider getting one of the teleports which can really aid with aggressive split pushing but as a rule of thumb beads are generally the way to go..

Gameplay

General

  • You want to be using your '2' Eat Minions pretty much at every opportunity to keep you Ult counter high.

  • You want to avoid team fights generally, if your team can handle the fight on their own you more use counter pushing. If they can't handle the team fight without you then wait till the fight has started then flank and surprise their back line, even if you die in the process if you can take out their mage and adc then it is worthwhile and will have won your team the fight.

  • When ganking a lane, try and come in behind the enemy and save the leap to chase or escape if it goes badly.

Early Game

Generally early game is much like any other Jungler. Do which ever start you prefer. Most people solo queueing still seem to prefer Speed - Mana - Solo lane - Mid. I don't think this is the best start, but you can only really do what the solo is prepared to do.

If you play pre-made then look up some other alternative starts, there are much better ones out there imho.
(if your team would like to try an invade then I'd suggesting taking Butcher Blades lvl one instead of Eat Minions)

At Lvl 3 you're good to start attempting ganks, between Butcher Blades and Achilles' Spear you have a damage output that will really surprise most players.
Get in close fire of both and auto attack like crazy, use your leap to chase.

Farm, Farm, Farm.

Mid Game

At this point you can focus less on farming the jungle and more on ganking lanes and the enemy jungler. So long as you're not behind on farm you should be able to solo anyone, between Butcher Blades Regurgitate and Achilles' Spear your dps should already be getting pretty disgusting. However always remember that you are very vulnerable to CC, be careful around gods like Anubis.

When Lanes are pushed, run in on the tower and attack it using your Butcher Blades autos, (despite the true damage not being applied to structures) it really does make a difference.

Generally at this stage you want to be constantly roaming, killing anyone foolish enough to be alone and pushing out any unattended lanes.

Late Game

Assuming you've got a competent team, late game you want to be focusing on counter pushing and split pushing lanes. The main reason for this is that Baka is great for bursting towers, has little team fight presence but can solo most gods, meaning that the enemy team will have to devote two+ gods to deal with your push. This leaves the team fight a 4vs3 in your teams favour.

If however your team is struggling in the team fights, then you might have to get involved in the team fights to ensure your teammates dont get wiped. In these instances you should wait in the wings till the team fight has started then try and loop round and attack their back line. (as mentioned in the general section)
