Well, the thing with such statistics is that they're estimated based on the whole, which means a lot of low-quality games. On casuals, Anubis happened to be the #1 god in the entire game for a few days- but it took into consideration games from below lvl 30.

However, I really wouldn't like them to suddenly nerf him (LOL) because of "overperformance".

I know I know, I just meant that it takes into consideration all the bronze games etc, and I'd dare to say there's more players in bronze-silver than there's in diamond+. And up to silver games aren't THAT much different from the casuals, aspecially when majority is solo-queued and can't coordinate that well.

True enough I guess

People who pick him in the higher ranks have two advantages:
1) If you're picking him in the higher ranks, you're probably really incredible with him and have a few tricks up your sleeve.
2) Other players that are in that high a rank probably aren't as used to playing against him and are more likely to make mistakes because of that due to his low pick rate meaning they rarely have to fight him.

Thus when he is picked in higher ranks, he's more likely to do well even though he's not a particularly good character. I had the same thing happen when I was playing as Chang'e in 1v1s in season 2. Once I got to plat and eventually diamond, people were much more used to playing against other characters in the S tier, thus they often made more mistakes than if they played against Chang'e's all the time. This is of course not as extreme as Anubis seeing that he's often in the C-D tiers on tier lists, but the general idea is the same.
